The old office is slowly becoming the new ham shack. It’s getting there. Not fast, but steady. Closet is cleaned out. Finally. All that old wood trim, finishing stuff, and random junk that had been piling up in there for years is gone. Still need to remove the bar you hang clothes on. Then the bookshelf moves into the closet. Going to buy another bookshelf to add to the mix later on. This one is out of room already. And yes, I have rid myself of the books I don’t want.
Still need to take the old shelves down from the wall and reposition them. Looking to put some new shelves up that look better. They’ll hold my military and other memorabilia I’m keeping. The stuff worth keeping anyway.
Once that’s done, the large makeshift desk will need to be repositioned in the room. It needs to be more centered to the cable access. This should be done by end of next week hopefully.
My shoulder has been killing me. Slowing progress on lots of things around the house lately. Especially my personal project for the office and future ham shack. You can only do so much when your body doesn’t cooperate. So I work when I can. Rest when I have to.
Once all that is in place I can get my antennas up outside. Run the cables into the shack. Setup the radios. Looking to be operating by end of December at least. In no big hurry. Rather do it right than do it fast.
You working on any long term projects?

Thanks for reading,
Joe

I’m so pleased with the progress you’ve made, and it doesn’t matter if the project’s moving slowly – the important thing is to keep moving forward. Take good care of that shoulder, and it’s fine to have a rest every now and then.
A long-term project? I’ve got two, and I’m working on them, but don’t say a word!!😆
Can't wait to hear about them.
It’s a secret for now, but it’s to do with things I’m really passionate about!
Awesome
Here’s a clue: I love painting
Oh boy!
😃
Looking good! I can't wait to see it when you have it all set up!
Thanks. Mostly grunt and busy work from here until time to run cables
aw, one of my people. My shoulder has pain constantly from a bad break about 2 years ago that I didn't do the physio properly for. What's yours?
Mine is from a fall from over a year ago. THey never did an MRI but sent me to PT. Went to PT once and never finished because it was hurting my shoulder too much to do. They weren't listening to me when I told them it hurt more. So fast forward, they did an MRI and it is boogered up, but no major tears or breaks. So PT again, this time the therapy is different and doesn't hurt so bad.
Congrats Joe, job done and soon you're going to have a new space to enjoy.
Thanks. Got some dressing up to do. But it is almost there.
Rooms going to look good when you get it done. Did you do anything for Halloween?
Thanks. Still lots of busy work and some cleanup to do. Wife handed out candy and while I watched football :)
Health is Wealth. So better take your time and later continue with the work. Have a great day friend.
It sure is and wish I had more of it. Both :)
Why does ham shack sounds like 'ham' and 'Shake Shack'? delicious! Lol. That's quite a job, but that's some improvement..and I hate to hear about that stubborn shoulder pain, hope it disappears soon, but don't be too hard on yourself and take it easy. How's your weekend?
Ham is an old turn of the century term used to refer to amateur radio operators. Weekend is going okay so far. Hope yours is as well.
Interesting, thanks for that info, Joe. Oh I'm grateful to have 3 days off this week. 💕
That closet cleanout is always the hardest part of any room conversion. Hope your shoulder feels better soon so you can finally get those antennas up.
