Wow, the last couple of days have wore me down. But it is a good thing. We dropped off around forty boxes for Toys for Tots just for our section of the local area. The other old Marines dropped off several more. We have hundreds around the local community.
Its been a fun couple of days for sure and this morning I am out the door in a couple hours to have coffee with another friend for an hour or two.
The weather has been amazing. The wife and I put out Fall decorations yesterday and the house looks all...comfy for the changing of the seasons. The temps have gone done enough now that I think the ole' lady will let me tackle the garage now. NOt to make her too upset, I plan to just do a section per day until it is done.
That said, I am staying busy and it feels good, mentally and physically. Looking forward to this evening as the wife and I are planning a walk through the enighborhood together. We haven't walked together in a long time. Sad, I know.
Gotta call my youngest son today and plan a fishing trip sometime this month as well. The weather is perfect for it, and the nice temps won't last long before it turns too cold. Looking forward to the father-son time with him to shoot the shit about different guys stuff.
Thinking about throwing some burgers on the grill this weekend if there is no rain, which I believe we are all clear for. Got some nice tomatoes for them in the fridge. Gonna see, if time allows, that we can take a trip to grocery store to get some lettuce and onions to throw on them as well. I have been hungry for a good burger lately.
I'm also looking forward to a good shot of Jameson Irish whiskey after this week. Although I'm not supposed to drink much with my blood sugars, one drink shouldn't hurt. Speaking of which, I took my first insulin shot this morning and it was straight foward. It came in an injector pen and was Jarhead proof. HOpefully between it, diet and exercise it can get my sugars down to where I feel much better.

YEp, it will be nice to start making a dent in the garage finally. I will for sure enjoy the burgers and whiskey.
I'll have to clean my garage a bit when I bring the stuff in from the patio.
Understand that. We have an overhang on our patio, so we just leave our stuff out and use it year round.
Glad the insulin pen isn't too bad. That walk will feel great as well as fishing with your youngest. It's great to keep moving, and enjoy that Jameson brother!
Yeah, it is an injectable pen that you dial up the dose and the needle is small. Sucks cause I feel backward yesterday in the garage and now my back is killing me. So gonna have to rest it for a bit. But that is what the Jameson is for LOL.
