Eclectic and True: Walking on Wednesday

in Silver Bloggers3 years ago (edited)

There are birds, but, not the song of spring singing in my ears.
I embrace the beauty of life through the eyes of the season because perception is everything. I can hear the symphony of life shouting out as the days pass into the sunshine of life. Eyes wide open, life. It's meant to be lived. Pretty sure that I read that somewhere, once upon a time.

Evergreen Tree.jpg

Every now and again, I step back from the hustle and bustle of life and reflect on the year that is passing me by. Embracing what's coming and enjoying what is ready to pass. It is in these moments when I am walking through life that I come to appreciate the beauty of change. I embrace it now, instead of lamenting the missing another piece of my life, slipping through the seasonal distribution.

Do you have a favorite season or do you just love them as they come along, singing their song? Tell me... tell me... tell me do.

I have lived in places that simply skip this phenomenon called fall. The shades of foliage are stunning at best, hushed, and beautifully cast over the landscape. Who can refute its beauty? I will be the very first to admit that I am sad when summer waves goodbye, taking with it the monarch butterflies, the songbirds, and the flowers of summer, but, thankfully replaces them with autumnal grace. Yes, my darlings, there is #alwaysaflower.

Yet, there are some days, all I can feel is the whisper of the winds
Caressing the very edges of my soul
As I run my hands through the memory
Of how it feels to be warmed by you
In the summertime, when the weather is fine

So easy to embrace life. Reach out and touch. Hug that tree. Learn from that experience, and live in the moment. I have to wonder what knotted up this poor old tree.

Holding on to the seeds, letting them go...I walked through a forest, combined with trees and swamps, grass fields honoring the scent of vegetation, the mixed parts of soil, and decaying plants and felled wood. Clearly the smell of life!

The flower gives freely and selflessly until it is no longer. It never feels like it should have done more. It never feels inadequate. It just radiates beauty, lovely scents, and love. That is the inevitability of nature. If we could all live just a little bit more like that, imagine what this world would be like.

I walk through this post today, clearly bending the rules to the walk... but, yet, celebrating the different seasons of being. Winter, spring, summer, or fall. I recognize and celebrate them all. I have the four seasons and must say, I enjoy each and everyone, at least once a day.

It's Wednesday! We are walking! As always, I want to thank @Tattoodjay for hosting the #WednesdayWalk challenge! It is a challenge that allows you to share what you see as you walk through your day. Show me where you walked today, I want to see what you got to see and hear what you have to say. If you want to do the challenge, drop him a link on his #WednesdayWalk post, so he can try to visit yours! Whatever your day looks like, it is worth a walk-through. You can't always have sunshine and rainbows, but, you can always have a #WednesdayWalk! So cast your hooks out to reel in some sunshine and happiness!

The Road Not Taken

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I -
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

as Always such beautiful photos and inspiring words to read

as for a favorite season a few years back I would have said I love all seasons equally, but these days I do not enjoy winter so much I do love the remaining seasons but my favorite would be spring as it warms and the colors return after winter

Thanks for joining the Wednesday, its always fun for me to visit the walks from all around the world, getting a feel for communities where people live and what they see on their daily walks

You know I really leaned into the cheat lane, right? I walked right through the seasons!

Thank you so much, JJ! @tattoodjay I hope you are having an amazing week!

not in the cheat lane at all :) a walk through the seasons is a lovely idea

Thank you! ❤️ Youvare too kind! I hope today is an awesone day for the two of you!

Thanks and yes it’s been a good day

My friend called me the other day and even though it is still quite cold outside, I am looking forward to getting out with him and playing some disc golf. Some of the courses are so isolated and wooded, it is a great way to commune with nature and get some exercise. Beautiful shots and words!

Thank you! Disc golf is good any time of the year! Truth! The winter where it is isolated and wooded becomes a trap in the spring! :)

So many people are really getting into the sport! That is awesome and I hope you have fun!

Discs start piling up! How many do you have and which is your favorite?

I have about twenty last I counted. I probably only use five of them regularly. I need to get to the store and buy some more.

That seems to be a common theme for disc players. :))

Do you ever find any or lose any? People are pretty good about calling when the find a disc!!

Others tell you that you can keep it. :) Awkward scratching off their name!

Yeah, I have lost one or two. I need to talk to someone who can help me get more distance. I think my arm speed is too slow for some of the discs I have. I've never found any that weren't mine.

The flower gives freely and selflessly until it is no longer.

Sometimes I feel like the flower... giving and giving...
Oh well. Such is ife!

There are birds, but, not the song of spring singing in my ears.

You said it so beautifully that I wouldn't even need the whole thing. I think it was better to write it at the end, haha...!

I'm almost joking when I say that the rest wasn't needed... poetry and more than inspiring photos and questions, almost in control.

Yes, I should like all seasons equally or dislike them, because each one has its less pleasant parts. We must like them all because that's what life is all about! I have a plus for summer because it comes from childhood, it includes many feelings, desires, and dreams. Even though it sometimes hurts, summer remains my favorite in this life!

Thank you, Denise, for the beauty you have shown us!

Ha! Yes. it would have been a nice way to end it!

Well, now you should like all seasons, now with not snow and real cold. You have stayed there long enough that you were given the Mediterranean feel that you love. To be fair, I love it too! What is not to love?

The winter of childhood is what I really love or perhaps trying to recapture it. We all know that is impossible!

Summer is lovely, as is spring... So Saturday, I will leave again for a little piece of summer. So hard to dislike winter when it looks like summer. :)

Hi, Dan! @bluemoon

I hope you are having a wonderful week. I have your post up and I promise it gets more attention than sitting on my computer screen. Shamefully only posting once this week! I hope you are doing better!

So you'll meet summer very soon! What a beautiful feeling! To have such power to change the season... I wish you a wonderful journey!

LOL I witness it as I write this! :)

I'm sure of that!

How much I am missing spring... Can't explain it with words. It is so cold here now and walking isn't a very good idea))

I don't remember where you live, but, winter can be pretty harsh in many parts of the world.

I like a little bit of snow, but, it doesn't get too cold, so I don't mind it very much. Keep warm there!

I live in the Central Asia and it wasn't too much cold before, it is about -17 here at the moment .

Yikes! That is chilly!!! Cold even!!!

Thank you for the upvote.

I absolutely embrace every season as it comes but a clear, crisp fall day inches just a little ahead of them all.

I am with you. I lean a tiny bit in one direction, but, for the most part, I embrace and love them all. Each one has redeeming qualities that I miss when they go away.

If that's not love... Okay, it might not be, but I have never met a season I don't like. :)

Good morning, beauty. How is life treating you this fine day?? ❤️

Good Morning

Hello! Hello! :)

As much as it does no good not to like it, I have never been able to grow an affection for winter. Sure it has an occasional feature like a beautiful snow (as long as I don't need to drive in it, which then makes it bad too).... and gathering around a cozy fireplace, if you have one (I don't). I don't think it feels good to be cold. I can't get motivated to go out in it unless I have too and bare brown trees and brown grass .... the dead if you will....just doesn't appeal to me at all !

So... I'll be wishing it gone while dreaming of spring.

I adore those teeny tiny pine cones on the evergreen in the first photo. So sweet.

Yes. The fireplace! The saving grace for winter. That and snowmen. :) We haven't had real snow in three years, but, I think we might be seeing some this weekend.

I am leaving here on Saturday, so if it snows, there won't be any tears! Just saying.

It doesn't sink down to an almost dismal existence, but! It only means that spring is coming!!!! How can that be a bad thing??

Good morning to you!

Wise, indeed, to take the time to just pause and enjoy what is all around us... and not take it for granted. Even those of us who work from home sometimes tend to get caught up in the hopeless rat race of it all, as we try our best to stay afloat in a world that sometimes feels like it is sinking.

It is easier to embrace what you cannot change and not take it for granted. I feel like it loses all that is special about it when we do that.

Working at home has its perks, but, I actually like an environment away from home from time to time. Covid has changed the personalities of some people only having to make themselves satisfied. Not in a good way, the change.

Unfortunately. It could have been a good thing and in many ways, it is, except, humans being human, they take advantage of it.

There are birds, but, not the song of spring singing in my ears.

For me neither. Currently we are in the winter. Compared to the season, nowadays the daylight temperature is relative warm, around 10 °C. Yesterday (on 2023.01.11) was 9 °C. With the exception of the mountain tops, currently there is no snow. Theorerically two more months, and the real spring will come (in March).

Have a nice day. All the best. Greetings and much love from Hungary.

This is surely another odd year, isn't it? Unbelievable with no snow. We haven't had any in three years now. It is supposed to lightly snow for a minute tonight, but, I doubt it will.

I know you don't like winter either, many don't. I like winter for a few months, but, then glad it does away.

Hi, Explosive! Greetings from Washington, DC!

The pics are fantastic !

Thank you.

You have perfectly described the importance of change and present moment and all seasons of weather clearly gives us the signal that after every summer comes the winter..

Every season has its own beauty but my favorite is autumn just because of being able to notice so many different colors in nature :)

The world would be more beautiful if only people is like a flower. We only have 2 seasons here in our place and I wonder sometimes what does having four seasons feel like. Yet, anyway, whatever seasons we have, as long as you embrace nature all around, you'll greatly appreciate and thank the blessing you have.
