Today

This is how the world looked today.

There was a rainbow striking the road in front of me, as if it was pretending to be a thunderbolt, but failing in it's softness and shiftiness. As the road curved down toward the caost, it became more pronounced, more like the bow of it's name, stretching from the forest and ending on the headland where small waves gathered as the tide receded. On the left side of the bow two smaller bows tried to climb, and seagulls screeched awake the day as they cut through it, oblivious to the light show, or perhaps because of it.

Before the rain came, the sunlight painted the ironbarks golden. Their branches glowed. If you could capture that colour you could make shimmering dresses for it. Three kangaroos bounded across the Great Ocean Road.

This is how the world looked today.

The wattles are out, the pale yellow ones and the richer golden ones. It tells me we aren't far from Spring, though it's still cold and we have a while to go.

This is the way the world looked today.

The sunrise was stupendous. More to the west, but still, even on the beaches further along it was doing a pretty good job at the old dawn lightshow. It's been a long time since you've seen the dawn at the beach, but I'm seeing it for you, so it's okay. I don't have the words for all the colours. Perhaps 'steel' for the mammary clouds? And 'clementine', 'tangelo' and perhaps a paler 'honeydue' and 'buttermilk' for the yellows?

Three yellow tailed cockatoos flew purposefully toward the west. Magpies sung, begging, where they've learnt the vanlifers and day tripping picnickers drop crumbs in the carparks. I saw six ducks on a habitat tree - you know, the dead trees left for animals - and they looked a little out of place, but quackingly happy.

A lone kelpie trotted purposefully along the beach, keeping a safe distance. I clicked my tongue against my teeth but he was busy. No, I am not getting a dog, but I remember you loved a kelpie.

I come home and clatter my keys on the table, but you are not there.

Only you could've written something so fucking beautiful. As you are. A great beautiful soul who doesn't deserve a drop of pain, let alone such bucket. I'm so sorry. 💟

Shucks. It's a bit shockingly raw and needs edits but it started with that line in my head out walking. Thanks for getting the WHY. 💗

Ask me, it's perfect as is precisely because it's raw and real. I read it first thing after I woke up and thought "now there, that's real art". Lotta pretentious crap online, but this is not just beautiful, it's genuine. It's something that makes you feel in this short, crazy life. Thank you for that, and I hope you hold on to that part of yourself that feels so. Because it's a beautiful part. <3

Nothing's got rid of that emotional feeling squishy part of me yet H.D.

This is the most beautiful and profound blog I've read in a long while!
It is not easy!
You've worked magic with words @riverflows, a big hug from me <3

Gosh @lizelle thankyou honey xxx 💗💗💗

This is very poetic. The words... I think I've missed a lot. But whatever it is, sending you hugs💙.

The underlying idea is about wanting to talk to my Dad when he's gone, which will be quite soon x

Sending you the biggest hug. I'm so sorry. This love you have for him, that is what you feel now. That's the sheer force behind it. So much love to you xxxx
