Greetings, friends of Silver Bloggers. It is always a pleasure to share my family experiences with this community. The protagonist of this post is my mother, who underwent surgery a few days ago. She had had a prolapse for years, and over time it worsened to the point where she had to undergo a total hysterectomy with two specialists, a gynaecologist and a urologist, who both performed the surgery and also repaired two large hernias in the groin area that she also had. It was practically four operations in one.
My mum's health deteriorated as she cared for my grandmother. She has been pushing herself for many years, and unfortunately, it took its toll. Thank God, my brother applied for a loan at his work and was accepted, and with that, my mum had her operation. My brother will have three years to pay it all back.
My mum could no longer walk due to severe pain in her hips, probably caused by muscle stress in the pelvic area. I was very afraid that she would go into the operating room and not come out alive, but it was very urgent that she have the surgery.
Saludos amigos de Silver Bloggers, siempre es un gusto compartir en esta comunidad mis vivencias familiares, la protagonista de esta publicación es mi mamá quien se sometió a una operación hace unos días, ella tenía un prolapso desde hace años y con el tiempo se fue agravando hasta el punto de tener que hacerse histerectomía total con dos especialistas juntos un ginecólogo y un urólogo ambos hicieron la cirugía y de paso repararon dos hernias grandes en la zona inguinal que también tenía, prácticamente fue cuatro operaciones en una.
Mi mamá fue perdiendo su salud en la medida que ha cuidado a mi abuela. Han sido muchos años haciendo fuerza y lamentablemente todo eso pasó factura. Gracias a Dios, mi hermano solicitó un préstamo en su trabajo y fue aceptado y con eso mi mamá se operó, mi hermano tendrá tres años para pagar todo.
Mi mamá, ya no podía caminar por un dolor intenso en sus caderas, es probable que haya sido por tanto estrés muscular en la zona de la pelvis. Yo tenía mucho miedo de que entrara en un quirófano y no saliera con vida, pero era muy urgente que se operara.
The day before the operation, she was admitted to the hospital to sleep at the clinic, and that was the least she did. She was very anxious and her legs hurt a lot from varicose veins. I spent that night putting cold compresses on her legs, and at 7: 30 a.m. they took her to the operating theatre. When we said goodbye in the room, she looked fine and seemed calm, so I decided to follow the nurse to the lift and saw my mother start to cry. She had had a breakdown a few minutes earlier, and I also think she was holding back so as not to cry in front of me.
The operation was long and a little complicated, according to the doctor, although the gynaecologist and urologist had already agreed on the course of the operation, they were surprised to see how my mother was once she was relaxed. At 11 a.m., the specialist arrived and told me that everything had gone well, thank God, and at 4 p.m., they took her to her room. I got very nervous because they took a long time to take her, and it was because she wasn't fully awake from the anaesthetic. She was conscious from the waist up, but she couldn't move anything from the waist down.
Un día antes de la operación la hospitalizaron para que durmiera en la clínica y fue lo menos que hizo, estaba muy ansiosa y le dolían mucho sus piernas por las varices, pasé esa noche colocando compresas frías en sus piernas, y a las 7. 30 am se la llevaron a quirófano, cuando nos despedimos en la habitación se veía bien, mostraba calma así que me dieron ganas de seguir a la enfermera hasta el ascensor y vi como mi mamá empezó a llorar, le dio una crisis minutos antes, también pienso que se estaba conteniendo para no llorar al frente de mí.
La operación fue larga y un poco complicada, según me dijo el doctor, aunque ya se habían puesto de acuerdo el ginecólogo y el urólogo sobre la ruta de operación, se sorprendieron de ver cómo estaba mi mamá una vez relajada. A las 11 am llegó el especialista y me dijo que todo salió bien, gracias a Dios, y a las 4 pm la llevaron a la habitación. Me puse muy nerviosa porque tardaron en llevarla y fue porque ella no terminaba de reaccionar a la anestesia, de la cintura para arriba estaba consciente, pero de la cintura para abajo no podía mover nada.

Taking advantage of the fact that my brother had treated me to lunch, I bought rice, salad, Caesar salad, battered prawns, bread and soft drinks. Everything was delicious, but shortly after finishing, I had an allergic reaction, with a sneezing fit that lasted until nightfall.
Ese día, a pesar de los nervios, quise almorzar algo diferente, aprovechando que el almuerzo me lo regaló mi hermano, compré arroz, con ensalada, cesar y camarones rebozados, pan y refrescos, todo estaba exquisito 🤤, pero al rato terminar me dio alergia 🤣😂, un ataque de estornudo hasta la noche.
When my mum arrived in the room, she looked well, and that night she slept excellently, with almost no pain. Twenty-four hours later, the doctor came to discharge her. My mum was in the best hands. Both doctors are excellent professionals, as well as kind, friendly, humble and down-to-earth people. We are very grateful for their services.
Three days have passed and my mum is progressing very well. I am happy and that is why I wanted to share what I am experiencing. Today I feel exhausted, as if I had been hit by a bus. I have been up late for days. It is not easy to take care of someone who has just had surgery and help them with everything. The hardest part for me is putting on and taking off her girdle every time she needs to go to the bathroom, and lifting her because she is 10 cm taller and 25 kilos heavier than me. But I'm also wearing a girdle, and in addition to caring for my mum, I'm also caring for my grandmother, who is in almost the same condition. But my happiness outweighs my tiredness, and that's why I'm writing this post.
I am a person of faith. Before leaving home, I lit a candle to Archangel Raphael, who is the angel of health and speedy recovery. I asked for help from Saint José Gregorio Hernández and, of course, from Almighty God. Here on earth, I asked many of my friends to keep my mother in their prayers. I am grateful for every good intention and prayer they offered. I am sure that if things had not turned out well, I would not be active on Hive, but that did not happen, and today I am grateful for God's grace.
Cuando llegó mi mamá a la habitación, tenía buen semblante, y esa noche durmió excelente, casi sin dolor. 24 horas después fue el doctor a darle el alta médica. Mi mamá estuvo en las mejores manos. Ambos doctores son unos excelentes profesionales, además de unas personas amables, cordiales, humildes y sencillas, quedamos muy agradecidas por sus servicios.
Han pasado tres días y mi mamá va evolucionando muy bien. Estoy feliz y por eso quise compartir lo que estoy viviendo, hoy me siento agotada, como si un autobús me fuera arrollado, tengo días de trasnochos no es fácil cuidar de un recién operado y ayudarlo en todo, lo que más me cuesta es ponerle y quitarle la faja cada vez que necesita ir al baño, y levantarla porque ella es 10 cm más grande y 25 kilos más pesada que yo, pero también estoy fajada y añadido al cuidado de mi mamá, está el de mi abuela que es casi igual, pero mi felicidad pudo más que mi cansancio y por eso escribo este post.
Soy una persona de fe, antes de salir de casa encendí un velón al arcángel Rafael que es el de la salud y la recuperación pronta, solicité ayuda a San José Gregorio Hernández y por supuesto a Dios todopoderoso, y aquí en la tierra le pedí a muchos de mis amigos que se mantuvieran en oración por mi mamá, agradezco cada buena intención y oración que elevaron. Estoy segura de que si las cosas no hubieran salido bien, no estuviera activa en hive, pero no pasó y hoy agradezco la gracia de Dios.

A pesar de todas las emociones por las que pasaron y el cansancio, cada gota de esfuerzo valió la pena. Estoy contenta al ver el final y esas fotos estan lindas al terminar tu escrito, se refleja el Amor, vocación y sobretodo la Fe💖.

Era una operación que se dio en el momento adecuado amiga, ahora que lo pienso todo ha ido de la mano para que sucediera, inclusive el hecho de que hayas empezado a entrenar con pesas en el gimnasio, para tener la fuerza física de poder ayudarla a ella y a tu abuela.
Es un nuevo reto físico y mental que estoy más que segura podrás superar, demostrándote que muchas de las cosas que piensas sobre ti misma, son solo jugadas mentales para sacarte de foco.
Gracias a Dios todo salió muy bien, y ahora tu mamá va a tener mejor calidad de vida y tu más confianza sobre ti misma.
Que bella amiga @mamaemigrante me dejas con la boca abierta con tu comentario, es verdad todo ha salido perfecto en sincronía incluso la persona que nos apoyo con mi abuela esos días, que estuviera en el país fue mucha casualidad, recuerdo que hace tres años cuando emigró yo quedé desesperanzada porque quería que ella estuviera en este momento y al final asi sucedió. No había pensando lo de las pesas en El gym pero bien que me ha servido, todo a salió en el tiempo perfecto por eso debemos pedir y confiar.

Hi @soyunasantacruz, so glad your Mom had the operation done to fix multiple issues. Much of it was very likely caused by lifting when caring for your grandmother; it does take its toll! At least she can start to feel better and become more active, as prolapse and hernias can be very debilitating! She must still take care, though, and not do any heavy lifting. You also need to take care, but I know what it's like; one has no choice! Try to see if someone can assist with some of the duties? Or don't try lifting your grandma on your own; ask anyone else in the house to give a hand. There are a number of helpful YouTube videos showing techniques for lifting. I was shocked when a tiny caregiver arrived one day to care for my Mom during the last few weeks of her life. She was taught the right techniques and did very well!

I have learned several techniques for changing my grandmother's nappies when she is in bed, but I still have a lot to learn. If my mother definitely became ill from caring for my grandmother, and I already have my own health problems, such as herniated discs, I am preparing myself from the outset. You really need to take care with the herniated discs, I'm walking around with the same. Get numbness and 'shocks' when I overdo things, thankfully, no pain! I have to see the surgeon end August to give feedbak. Luckily he went the conservative route and did not operate, sent me for physio and put me on meds to desensitize the nerve endings😳 Such is life, as my friend papilloncharity always says!

Oye que bueno que todo salio excelente y que tú mamá no solo contó con un ginecólogo, tambien conto con un urólogo y eso es muy importante, a mí prima después de esa operación quedó orinando en pañales, porque le afectaron la vejiga. Claro lo de ella fue en un seguro. Gracias a Dios tu hermano consiguió un préstamo, que Dios ponga los recursos, para salir de esa deuda. Bendiciones 🤗
Si, gracias a Dios pero es que mi mama tenía un prolapso tan grande que el mismo ginecólogo lo solicitó, y mas bien ambos después de muchos estudios decidieron la forma de la operación. Esperemos que quedé bien, porque no hay nada seguro. Gracias amiga
