Getting Up Close and Personal

in Silver Bloggers2 years ago

Hello Hello one and all.

With one thing and another I have not been out walking much at all this last week, which was not good at all, but I did get out for a late stroll last night. It did help to lose some of those calories gained at dinner!

IMG_0974.JPG

This is what greeted me as I came out of the house and onto the street. There are no filters in any of these pictures and the time was around ten thirty pm. I guess we would call it dusk, one thing about Scotland is that we get long nights in June!

The blues and pinks were gorgeous. I didn't find a pink bell pepper @pinkchic but I hope there is enough pink for you in this set of sky pictures!

IMG_0971.JPG

It almost looked like there was trying be a splash of pink and blues shooting across the football ground.

I just had to nip into the house and grab my (still) new toy (camera). Nature was wowing us in the sky.

IMG_0972.JPG

You can see it is nighttime as the cars have their lights on, but you can notice that the street lighting is still not on though!

IMG_0980.JPG

Living on the coast we are inundated with seagulls, and sure enough I heard a few of them squawking so thought I would see if I could capture any in a picture.

IMG_0984.JPG

These two were obliging models.

IMG_0997.JPG

I saw another one down the bottom of the street, and I also noticed the colours were almost like layers of paint on a canvas.

IMG_0998.JPG

Time to get up close and personal.

IMG_1005.JPG

I love the chimney stacks silohouetted against the coloured sky, and keep your eyes on that lampost!

IMG_1002.JPG

Yep, one of our local seagulls thought they would have a wee perch and photobomb a picture!

Come on down I said!

He, well I could not actually tell if he was a he or she was a she, but he sounds better than it, then decided to have a wee fly and I said why thank you and snapped that shot.

IMG_0990.JPG

Whenever I see birds like this, it reminds me of how I paint a bird on a painting!

IMG_1011.JPG

Then in the blink of an eye, on popped the street lighting. Now it was close to eleven pm. I gotta love this photography hobby of mine, when nature provides us with some many models and muses all for free:)

There we have it, and I hope that you enjoyed a wee nightime tour of our evening skies in my street in Scotland.

Oh wow! Those colour combinations are great with the silhouettes in the background. I did love that seagull perched right ontop of the lampost.

Thank you, I totally agree, the colours were just awesome. I did love the seagull on the lampost with the silhouettes too. Gorgeous sky really it was:)

Epic skies and fabulous photos mate! I do so miss the long summer evenings. I cant believe you are rapidly approaching the longest day already! It's all downhill from there.

Have a great week young man :-)

Funnily enough, as I was writing the post, I was thinking only a couple of days and then the nights shorten again, so yeah hehe all downhill now!
Thank you and have yourself a cracking week!

That second last photograph is magnificent. Have you noticed how the sillouhette of the TV aerials look like dragonflies?

Oh yes I like that one too. The dragonfly aerials, yes I notice then now! How cool is that. Hope you are putting your feet up now...

Mostly feet up. Still a lot of sorting to do... It'll happen as & when...

as & when is the best, just don't overdo it Fiona, you have been manic for the last wee while!

These silhouette look so good my friend Teng. They have so much feels, love it.

Thank you Leticia they really grabbed me too :)

Wow, Ed! these photos are beautiful. You are starting to get the most out of your new toy. They look like paintings. They are all gorgeous, but I love the one with the seagull standing on the lamp post. You know I like bird's photobomb, jaja

jeje I thought you would like a bird photobombing Super Eli. I thought they looked like paintings too! The new toy just is amazing, and all I do is point and click! This week will post some pies.

Cool! I miss the pies. You've kept me from hearing from them for too long, Super Ed ;)
Glad you're enjoying the new toy.

Aww this is so amazing Sir Teng. I so love the view in all pink with the silhouette. But the pink bell peppers are not around, though. Haha. How I wish I could experience something like that during night time. Pink is both love and life!

Hehe salamat pink CJ, yeah truly stunning colours the shades of pink and blue were amazing. An absolute joy to behold. Oh well we shall keep hunting for the link bell pepper Have a wonderful week.

Walang anuman, Sir Teng. Haha. Those pink bell peppers that do not really exist. I wish one could make a variety for this. LOL. Have a nice time my friend.

thanks pink CJ, have a wonderful week :)

I'm always surprised by how light it stays in Scotland! Do you even have nighttime? Lol

Great photos! Thanks for sharing.

Hehe it is great in the summer with long nights, but then in winter it is dark haha. Thanks Steve😁

That is true Tito Ed, so free for us to enjoy and appreciate :) Good Monday morning to you

Happy Tuesday CJ, yes some of the best things in life are free :)

Very, very true. Thank you Tito Ed Good Monday evening to you :)

too pink for me... lol but it doesn'tlook like it 10 pm already :)

Then focus on the blueeeee! Yes closer to 11 than 10, but will start changing in a couple of days

hahahaha still lol

Gorgeous sky, two gulls look excellent in the capture along with the chimney pots giving a nice homely photo.

Long evenings most definitely a lot longer than we ever have here, most enjoyable in summer months having the day stretch a little further.

!LUV

The sky was a gorgous and I like that description, a nice homely photo :)
Yes it is fun when the days stretch further, but we make up with the shorter days in the winter!

Solstice today your longest our shortest day of the year, 'make hay while the sun shines' so they say!

Ah yes you will start to get our longer nights now :)

Dread at the thought of going back to summer, winter is a fine time for me!

What a beautiful photos you made! There’s something special about those chimneys, I rest my eyes as I look at that contrast of colors. 😊 It would be completely dark in my environment at that time. I like the twilight and the colors of the sky. And seagulls, you caught them at the right moments, beautiful! You inspire me to buy a camera. 😀

Thank you Jelena, yeah long nights and light, well now it gets darker again as we have had the summer solstice.
You should get a camera, it is fun when nature brings us colours and spectacles like that to capture:)

Beautiful images, @tengolotodo. I particularly like the one where the seagull photobombed your shot. In fact, I thought you had taken it because of him (her, whatever! Lol!) but then I read the caption. It's my favourite shot, so kudos to the seagull. He knew he made the shot!

Thank you Julia, I love when birds photobomb my pics, normally it is ducks or young swans. There were a few of them flying around and I was hoping for that sort of shot, but he/her did duly oblige:)

I love sunsets too and my mom. Your photos are so beautiful.

I love sunrises and sunsets, although often sunrises are too early for me to see🤣
Thank you, I am glad you like them.

I also wakes up late because I always sleep late. I only see sunsets 😁

hehe I thought you would be up bright and early wanting your mum to feed you!

Good timing on the seagull flying. I do like shots like that where the birds are silhouetted against the colorful sky. At 10:30 pm? I'm already dead to the world lol!

I miss these kinds of colors. I don't see them that often anymore either in the morning or night. Such as gloomy weather we always have here these days.

Pretty shots, kuya!

The joys of digital photography, we can snap snap snap away and hopefully get good pictures. Yes we have long nights but then in winter we have short daylight days too! So swings and roundabouts!
I am sure you have some gorgeous colours when it is not gloomy, thank you kuya:)

Indeed. Thanks to the beauty of multiple shots :D
Welcome, kuya!

You have every reason to fall in love with this hobby. These shots are beautiful. ❣️❣️

Thank you Iska, nature makes photography much easier :)

Wow! Still so much light at that time...

You did an awesome job by capturing those colors! Well done, @tengolotodo! It's evident that you love this photography hobby of yours, you're doing a great job! Keep on doing it and sharing it with us!

Well now that the Summer Solstice has been, the light gets less and less.
Thank you Jaco, nature makes photography easy, the colours were just outstanding:)

nature makes photography easy...

That's very true👍! Have a great day!

You too and thanks Jaco :)

Wow, these photos are absolutely beautiful!! That colours are magic, @tengolotodo 🤗

Thank you Palamo, nature is amazing :)

These are gorgeous pictures and I am yet to see anyone describe their photos as passionate as you do yours with the wee perch and the wee fly and the funny ways you make animals act like they can hear and talk. Nice one Tengo. I loved every picture.

hehe but animals CAN hear and talk. We just need to tune in to what they say hehe
Well I like to have fun with my photos and have the reader either being entertained or thinking that I am a nutter or both haha
I like them too, cracking pictures I think:)

They are absolutely gorgeous.

I fink so too ;)

Having lived most of my life much closer to the equator than you are, the idea of having "dusk" at 10 pm blows my mind. One day (soon ish I hope) we'll get over there and I'll get to experience it for myself.

In the meantime, they are some awesome pinks you've caught there on your new toy!! 💗💗💗

ah yes, I remember when living and working in Gabon, it was slap bang right on the equator, and I could not get my head around the fact that in February the dusk was the same as in July for example! So I know where you are coming from.

Yes the new toy is a cracker and lets me capture all sorts of colours.

Funny how we get so used to whatever is normal in our part of the world, hey? Humans: were such malleable creatures ☺️😃😅

💗💙💛💚 So many awesome colours to capture!

Ah yes, we do get used to what is normal for us and then forget there are other parts of the world🤣
