We also have robins @porters!! But ours in SA look quite different - except for the red part. Ours are peculiar to our area, the Cape Robin. They're fat and shy. But for some reason our cats never touch them. Which I'm really happy about. Loved the photos of the busy bees. The flies not so much. Yuck. Do you ever get ladybugs on your alfalfa? Ours are FULL of them

I wish we had more ladybugs here for we have an outbreak of aphids this year and ladybugs would clean them up pretty quick.
I wish our field ladybugs would move to the gardens! We still get outbreaks of aphids on the brasillicas
