We have just returned from a drive out to the mountains, late at night I know, but I was taking shots of the moon when I saw flickers of flame on the mountain peaks on our side.
I have a friend in California that sent us pictures one time of their fires and it's the dense undergrowth that sets everything alight in the peaks. Now if those flames reaches the forests lower down this side, we will be in real trouble. One of our historical farms Lourensford have already been touched by the fire.
The residents in a few towns like Jonkershoek are on high alert and waiting for the signal to evacuate, so it's indeed a terrible thing.

Indeed, but we are survivors over here my friend and we all will do what we can to help those that are affected by the fires.
If only the wind will take a rest.
