This week, we were asked to share a picture of the bird we want to be. Thinking back to all the photos I have taken, it is clear that I would like to be the blue headed Parrot. The reason I would like to be this bird is for two reasons. First, they are super cute and fly around in a big pack singing as they go. Secondly, I once had one of these parrot friends and seeing these birds brings buck memories of him. Sadly, when we moved the bird to our new home, a cat came and ate him; I was so mad. Ever since, I have not been too much of a cat lover, although we have two. I often find myself on the side that is against cats, and who can blame me? I understand they are important to keep the rats down, but I still think of the bird.
I love cats, but I was sorry to hear about the bird. I used to put a little bell around my cats' collars so they could not sneak up on birds, but this reduces their effectiveness against rodents. We don’t have rats here, though. My province, Alberta, Canada, is said to be the largest rat free land mass in the world. We have rat patrol at the provincial borders. People usually think I am joking about that, but, strangely, it is a real thing!
Putting a bell probably would help, however, this cat was a wild one, and I was at the old house when he was attacked. But that's a good idea about putting a bell on the cat, thank you for stopping by and checking out my page!
Aww, they are sooo cute. So sorry to hear that your feathered friend was eaten by a cat.
