Today I would like to share with you a few pictures of a bird I found on the Homestead. This bird is know as the Red-Crested Finch. This little guy was sitting in the front yard as I went out to walk with my camera. It is important to note that if were to put this bird's name into Google, you would see that this bird is a little different then the ones on the internet. I don't really know why this is, all I do is match them up with pictures in my bird book.
I knew you would have gorgeous birds to show us! What a colorful little beauty! I used Google Lens and it suggests that it is a Red billed Fire Finch. Take a look and see if you agree.

You were right and Google was wrong! Looking at it further the firefinch lives in Africa and the red crested finch is in Ecuador.
