Another interesting topic on Feather friends, as crows are very common but in crow family many spices are very rare. Crow family is considered an opportunist family so they adopt and live in every kind of situation. I start my post with rare one "chough" as they live 5000M above sea level. I captured these two specie Red-Billed Chough and Yellow-Billed Chough near Khunjrab pass in the Karakoram Mountain range, Pakistan.
Chough
Crow
Crows are very common in our area specially house crow, other crows are found in hilly areas like Murree and Nathia Gali in Pakistan. Jackdaw lives in Balakot valley in Northern area of Pakistan. Rook every year visits Islamabad area in summer.
Jays
The only jay living in Pakistan is Black-Headed Jay found in Margalla hills, Islamabad. They are very noisy and active. We still hope that Black-headed Jay's cousin Eurasian Jay may visit Margalla, If that happens I will update Feather Friends community.
Magpie
Yellow-Billed Magpie a permanent resident of Margalla hills. They are very colorful and live in a flock. I captured Black-Billed Magpie in Hunza valley of Northren Pakistan.
Treepie
Another common resident of Margalla hill, Islamabad. Both Rufous Treepie and Grey Treepie are common but live in dense forest.
Conclusion
Feather Friend community has brought very interesting topic this week as through this we all are introduced with some new crow species. With this we also know some distribution areas of these birds. We in Pakistan for bird identification use "Birds of Pakistan" Helm Field Guides. In this book it is mentioned that "Spotted Nutcracker" lives in Pakistan but is still not captured.
