Bee-eaters and other birds

in Feathered Friends4 years ago

When the birds packed to leave to warmer places, it is the end of the summer. Some did it earlier, some do it now. Last weekend it was very windy and this helped me a lot to make the following photos of the bee-eaters who were flying not very high.

The strong wind made them fly slowly and kept them in one place long enough, so it was really a good chance for me to be able to focus the camera.

Bee-eaters are one of the most colourful birds found in my country. They lived in colonies, feed on insects - bees and wasps.

This was the first time to encounter the bee-eaters. I am sure they have been passing over my head each year. I simply did not pay attention then.

Feeling sad when I see the flocks of birds heading south. On the other hand there are many that stay and I am pleased to encounter them every day.

Next we saw again our old friend the woodpecker.

They were a couple of woodies, the second one was behind and I could not get sharp picture of both of them.

When the leaves fall down, I have better view on the woodpeckers and I hope to see more of them, along with this one - the Syrian woodpecker, I am expecting to spot the green woodpecker more often.

The Great and Blue tits are also constantly in tne park.

Not to forget the greenfinch.

Wherever I look, I see sparrows.

On top of the tree.

Or, on the ground.

And also this one, which appeared to be young bird, looked quite funny.

It is never boring when I am in the park. There are days when I have not a single shot, others - just an abundance of birds and I don't know where to look first.

And that is all for now.

A great show of birds again and that woodpeckers must have a pretty sore beak by now he has been at that tree for a while now 😅

Oh, it is amazing how these woodies drill the wood. 😉😀

I should hire one of them to do my drilling it would save me on my power bill just feed him seeds 😅

Hahaha, they will not disappoint you. 😅

Haha , i would believe not 😅

Lovely shots of the birds Neli. It is sad to see some of the birds leaving here too and heading for warmer climate.

Thanks Jo! ❤

Welcome Neli . I meant to remark how I like the last photo with the bird waving his claw.

That bird was sooo cute. 😀

Oh, I am so excited each time I see a new bird. Well, I have many photos deleted, because they are not in focus or sharp or they are too dark. I keep on practicing though. 😀
When I arrive at work I am welcomed by the choir of finches. Now my goal is to be able to recognize the birds by their song. And something I wish very much is to photograph an owl. Thee are some in my area but they are hiding so well.
