Welcome to #SMaP Show Me A Photo Contest Round 132!
I was browsing my photos and thinking of the next challenge. I got this idea - it will be Free Theme, but I want you to tell me where you took your picture - in your garden, in the park or zoo, in the lake or river, in the field or in the woods. When did you take the photo, in which season for example. If you don't know what the bird is, you can ask the communty for help. Is there anything curious about the photo? What makes it special? These are just few questions to give you a hint how to tell a story and make the post more interesting and with better option to win. Moreover, the quality posts are nominated for the Bird/Author of the Week. This means I expect your entries to be with more than one photo and story about each one.

European Jay
Yesterday was a very successful day. We went in the field not far from home. This field was abandoned for a long time and now more and more construction works take place there. There is still an area with some trees and shrubs where we found plenty of birds. Suprisingly, the jay was there too. This is not a bird to be seen very often and I don't know why. I was just making a picture of two woodpeckers and then hubby pointed out that there was another bird on the same tree and that was the jay. I got only one shot before the jay was off.

If you create quality post with more images and interesting story about them, making extra effort can give you bigger upvotes and attract curators. Keep that in mind.

The European Jay has some similar characteristics to the Blue Jays we see here.
I guess they do, like distant cousins. I don't know why I see the jay seldom, this was a lucky shot.

two days ago, a jay flew to my tree outside the window.
