Today morning, we get a new guest at our home. It is indeed very beautiful, that took me so late to make a post.
Totta,Shuga,Mithu,Ruppu well these are few name were from Hindi dictionary but generally people know it by Parrot. The best friendly bird to human, who even mimic human language and talk.
As soon as it was brought into our home, we started to get friendly, we feed him with different items my kids started to enjoy.
The story behind this unexpected guest goes by this, it belongs to my neighbour and due sudden demise of someone they need to travel early morning. Thereby handing over this parrot to us.
Looking at many unknown faces around, it started to behave awkwardly even there is sign of discomfort and angry.
I know, many would also be wondering and feeling worry about keeping such beautiful birds into cage. I know it feels bad to me as well. I even questioned my neighbour once. But they told me
'This parrot are with them since many years. They found this parrot injured under a tree,they brought home and took care of it later they were so attached to it, that they don't want to get seperated. And they make a special big home for it.'
On which I could not say anything and now the bird is part of their family member.
Looking and searching over internet about its species, I found something very interesting.
The Alexandrine parakeet (Psittacula eupatria), also known as the Alexandrine parrot, is a medium-sized parrot in the genus Psittacula of the family Psittacidae. It is named after Alexander the Great, who transported numerous birds from Punjab to various European and Mediterranean countries and regions, where they were prized by the royalty, nobility and warlords. - Wikipedia.
So this species has an interesting history too, which is related with Alexander the Great.
Now it's already more than 5 hrs, and we are still hanging around it. Wanted to get quite friendly,and making it more comfortable though not yet spoken to us, but in between, it keep shouting. But my neighbour told me, that they taught it few words, obviously hindi. Hope to listen something from it sooner.
Till that time, I try to get more friendlier , and hope to bring something more interesting in few days, till it remain with us. The next 5-6 days going to be quite interesting and entertaining.

How fun to get to have this beauty as a house guest @steemflow! I agree with you about birds that are kept in cages. By their very nature they should be as free as the breeze. But we don't always know the history, and it was kind of your neighbors to rescue this one. I can understand how it quickly became a loved member of their family.

Indeed, they kept it very well providing with proper space and allow it to be free within....you know many a times people who keep parrot as pet used to trim their feathers. So that they dont fly away. Which is not on this case....just the love don't allow it to be free

Awww so cute he is. Over a period of time you can make a bigger space for him and also train him to be free in your space, that would really be nice of him.
At my granny's place we had a Cockatoo and he used to speak all funny things. He was left free in the house and never flew away anywhere. There was a garden and he used to fly in that space only. It was truly a good feeling to have him at home.
