Hola amigos de esta linda comunidad, el es Wilman, a quien cariñosamente le llamo Gary. Ya he hablado de él en otro post, pero me gustaría contarles un poco más sobre él. Conocí a Gary cuando tenía unos 17 años; actualmente tengo 26. Lo conocí cuando estaba en quinto año de secundaria. Él había estudiado allí anteriormente, pero se fue a otra ciudad y años después regresó. Recuerdo haberlo visto algunas veces en mis horas libres, pero siempre de lejos, ya que nunca habíamos coincidido en clases hasta ese año en que él regresó y nos tocó el mismo salón.
Hello friends of this nice community, this is Wilman, whom I affectionately call Gary. I have already talked about him in another post, but I would like to tell you a little more about him. I met Gary when I was about 17 years old; I am currently 26. I met him when I was in the fifth year of high school. He had studied there before, but he went to another city and years later came back. I remember seeing him a few times during my free time, but always from afar, since we had never met in class until that year when he came back and we were in the same room.
Ese primer día que lo vi marcó algo muy significativo en mi vida, porque fue el inicio de muchos momentos especiales. Desde el principio noté que Gary estaba algo alejado de todos; era comprensible, pues no conocía a nadie al ser el "nuevo" de la clase. Una amiga y yo nos acercamos a él para hacerlo sentir más cómodo, y durante la charla descubrimos que teníamos algunos gustos musicales similares, lo que hizo nuestra conversación muy entretenida.
That first day I saw him marked something very significant in my life, because it was the beginning of many special moments. From the beginning I noticed that Gary was somewhat distant from everyone; it was understandable, as he didn't know anyone being the "new" guy in the class. A friend and I approached him to make him feel more comfortable, and during the chat we discovered that we had some similar musical tastes, which made our conversation very entertaining.
Con el paso de los meses, nos fuimos acercando más y empezamos a hacer trabajos juntos, salir a comer, ir a fiestas, almorzar, visitar las casas del otro. Gary conoció a mis padres y hermanos, quienes lo acogieron con cariño desde el primer día. Se hizo querer muy rápido y, sin duda alguna, se convirtió en un amigo para toda la vida.
As the months went by, we grew closer and started doing jobs together, going out to eat, going to parties, having lunch, visiting each other's houses. Gary met my parents and siblings, who welcomed him warmly from day one. He grew on me very quickly and, without a doubt, became a lifelong friend.
Aunque ahora vivimos lejos debido a que yo estoy fuera del país, cada vez que hablamos siento que todo sigue igual. Intentaré mantener una comunicación más constante con él para no alejarnos por tanto tiempo. Siempre considero que soy afortunada por tener personas especiales en mi vida. Wilman es una de esas personas muy especiales para mí, una parte importante de mi crecimiento. Me ha ayudado en momentos difíciles y es alguien a quien admiro por su inteligencia y dedicación. Sé que la vida le deparará cosas grandiosas, porque se lo merece.
Even though we live far away now because I am out of the country, every time we talk I feel that everything is the same. I will try to maintain more constant communication with him so that we don't stay away for so long. I always consider myself lucky to have special people in my life. Wilman is one of those very special people to me, an important part of my growth. He has helped me through difficult times and is someone I admire for his intelligence and dedication. I know that life will bring great things for him, because he deserves it.
Desde el primer día que lo conocí, sentí una conexión tan real que no experimento constantemente. Supe que nuestra amistad no sería como cualquier otra, y no me equivoqué. Estoy muy feliz de que haya llegado a mi vida en un momento en el que ni siquiera lo esperaba. Fue sinceramente una de las mejores cosas que me pasaron en la secundaria.Siempre digo que no hacen falta días o fechas importantes para dedicar palabras bonitas a las personas que más queremos, aquellas que siempre están ahí, que nunca nos fallan y que están presentes sin importar la distancia. Quiero dedicar este post a mi amigo Wilman y a todas esas personas que saben ser amigos de verdad y amar de corazón.
From the first day I met him, I felt a connection so real that I don't experience constantly. I knew our friendship would not be like any other, and I was not wrong. I am so happy that he came into my life at a time when I wasn't even expecting him. It was honestly one of the best things that happened to me in high school.I always say that it doesn't take important days or dates to dedicate nice words to the people we love the most, those who are always there, who never fail us and who are present no matter the distance. I want to dedicate this post to my friend Wilman and to all those people who know how to be true friends and love from the heart.
