Saludos mis queridos amigos de Family and Friends, es para mi un verdadero placer estar nuevamente con todos ustedes. El día de hoy les traigo el compartir familiar por el cumpleaños de mi mamá; la verdad es que a todos en casa nos encanta celebrar la vida y aun mejor si es en familia, con los seres que amamos y nos aman verdaderamente. Para estar oportunidad y porque estamos en semana santa decidimos hacer un delicioso almuerzo con arroz blanco, caraotas negras, pescado guisado y plátano maduro frito, aquí en la Isla lo llamamos pabellón margariteño y queda de otro planeta; nunca se le dice que no a este maravilloso platillo. Les confieso que aunque lleva tiempo preparar esta comida el resultado final no tiene comparación y es muy satisfactorio poder complacer a mi madre con sus peticiones y mas que era su día especial.
Greetings my dear friends of Family and Friends, it is a real pleasure for me to be with all of you again. Today I bring you the family sharing for my mother's birthday; The truth is that everyone at home loves to celebrate life and even better if it is with family, with the beings we love and who truly love us. For this opportunity and because we are in Holy Week we decided to make a delicious lunch with white rice, black beans, stewed fish and fried ripe plantain, here on the Island we call it Margariteño pavilion and it is from another planet; You never say no to this wonderful dish. I confess that although it takes time to prepare this meal, the final result has no comparison and it is very satisfying to be able to please my mother with her requests and even more so that it was her special day.
Al transcurrir la tarde llegó el pastel, el pastel de este año fue red velvet porque nos encanta el color rojo y el sabor de esta torta es indescriptible e irresistible; gracias a @denissemata por hacerla y decorarla. En casa junto a mi hermana y cuñado hicimos una crema de sardina ahumada que teniamos tiempo sin hacer y nos gusta mucho, algunos tequeños, bolas de carne molida. Ellos también llevaron a casa un sabroso quesillo para complementar el pastel. Todo esto para pasar un rato agradable y conversar ya que muchas veces solo estamos con prisas por las actividades y responsabilidades que tenemos a diario.
As the afternoon went by, the cake arrived, this year's cake was red velvet because we love the color red and the flavor of this cake is indescribable and irresistible; thanks to @denissemata for making and decorating it. At home with my sister and brother in law we made a smoked sardine cream that we hadn't made for a while and we really like it, some tequeños, balls of ground meat. They also brought home a tasty quesillo to complement the cake. All this to have a pleasant time and talk since many times we are just in a hurry due to the activities and responsibilities we have daily.
Otras de las peticiones que hace mi mamá es que cada año quiere su torta fría para tenerla en la nevera y disfrutar cada porción cuando la desee, a demás de refrescarse ya que el calor esta algo intenso. Este año esa torta fría fue de melocotón, la cual quedó perfecta, con un sabor insuperable; éstas tortas frías son verdaderamente fáciles de hacer y lo mejor es que no requieren de horno.
Another request that my mother makes is that every year she wants her cake to be cold so she can have it in the refrigerator and enjoy each slice whenever she wants, in addition to cooling off since the heat is somewhat intense. This year that cold cake was peach, which was perfect, with an unbeatable flavor; These cold cakes are really easy to make and the best thing is that they do not require an oven.
Cuando llegó la noche cantamos cumpleaños en familia, deseando que sean muchos años mas de celebración todos juntos. Después consumimos los dulces junto a un refrescante refresco y todos a su lugar.
When the night came we sang birthdays as a family, wishing for many more years of celebration all together. Afterwards we consumed the sweets along with a refreshing soft drink and everyone went to their places.
