En esta ocasión estuvimos celebrando el logro de la mayor de mis dos sobrinas, defensa de su tesis de trabajo de grado, esta defensa representaba su última actividad académica, lo cual la acreditaba como aspirante a grado con el título de ingeniero telemático. Si, tengo dos sobrinas, las cuales amo profundamente, ellas son esa chispa de magia, el motor de la belleza y el empuje al amor. Realmente son adorables. Otro día les contaré más sobre ellas....

On this occasion we were celebrating the achievement of the eldest of my two nieces, defense of her graduate work thesis, this defense represented her last academic activity, which accredited her as an applicant for a degree with the title of telematics engineer. Comienzo diciéndoles que fueron días muy intensos... Actualmente estoy residencia en Caracas, que es la capital de Venezuela, mi sobrina está residenciada en el interior del país, en el estado Lara. Mi sobrinita amada estaba algo desmotivada por el tema de la tesis, ya que era un tema que no demostraba para lo que se había formado.
En vista de que estaba desmotivada y yo me desempeño como project manager, decidí trasladarme a donde reside mi sobrina (hogar de mis padres) para apoyarle en todo lo que hiciera falta. Estuve con ella alrededor de cuatro meses.

My beloved little niece was somewhat unmotivated by the topic of the thesis, since it was a topic that she did not demonstrate what she had been trained for.
Since she was unmotivated and I worked as a project manager, I decided to move to where my niece lives (my parents' home) to support her in whatever way she needed. I was with her for about four months.
Primeramente nos armamos un plan de trabajo, usando mi experiencia, luego buscamos expertos que le dieran una vuelta al tema. Con todo este trabajo previo y la conversación con los expertos mi sobrinita se sintió confiada, satisfecha y entusiasmada para enfrentar lo que venía, el desarrollo de una tesis de trabajo de grado y su correspondiente defensa.
Fueron muchas horas de trasnocho, de reuniones, hubo lágrimas, decepciones...También hubo mucho compañerismo, empatía, conversaciones y lo más importante, aprendizaje.
First we put together a work plan, using my experience, then we looked for experts to take a look at the topic. With all this previous work and the conversation with the experts, my little niece felt confident, satisfied and excited to face what was coming, the development of a graduate thesis and the corresponding defense of it.
There were many hours of late nights, meetings, there were tears, disappointments... There was also a lot of camaraderie, empathy, conversations and most importantly, learning.
Llegó el día de la defensa

Todos estábamos muy emocionados y confiados de que todo saldría bien. Mi sobrina logró acordar la fecha con los tutores para que su abuelita pudiera estar en la defensa.
Nos organizamos la noche anterior con lo que sería ejecutar el menú que nos habíamos propuestos (no me dio chance de sacar fotitos). Mi sobrina también es cheff internacional, y propuso postres tipo shot de pay de límón, cheese cake y marquezsa de chocolate, también mini pizas, diversos tipos de salsas para acompañar con pan y galletas, tequeños, entre otros.
Decoramos con muchos globos, también hicimos toda la papelería para los tutores.
Ese día nos levantamos muy temprano a vestirnos y peinarnos y nos fuimos muy ansiosos a la última clase académica de mi sobrina amada.
We were all very excited and confident that everything would turn out well. My niece managed to agree on the date with her guardians so that her grandmother could be in the defense.
We organized ourselves the night before with what it would be like to execute the menu we had proposed (she didn't give me the chance to take photos). My niece is also an international chef, and she proposed shot-type desserts of lemon pie, cheese cake and chocolate marquezsa, also mini pizzas, various types of sauces to accompany bread and cookies, tequeños, among others.
We decorated with many balloons, we also made all the stationery for the tutors.
That day we got up very early to get dressed and comb our hair and we went very anxiously to my beloved niece's last academic class.

Luego de una exposición de 45 minutos, en donde mi sobrina debía defender su trabajo de grado a través de los pasos del método científico y de la deliberación de tres jurados. El jurado informa a través de la lectura de un acta que mi sobrina ha obtenido la máxima puntuación (20/20), lo cual la acredita ingeniero en telemática. En ese momento lloré de la emoción, de ver materializado el esfuerzo en el premio de un gran resultado.
After a 45-minute presentation, where my niece had to defend her degree work through the steps of the scientific method and the deliberation of three juries. The jury informs by reading a report that my niece has obtained the maximum score (20/20), which accredits her as a telematics engineer. At that moment I cried from emotion, from seeing the effort materialized into the prize of a great result.

Mi sobrina es amante de la comida italiana, así que seleccionamos un restaurant que sirviera este tipo de comida. Allí estuvimos gran parte de la tarde, entre brindis, conversaciones, bebidas y comida. Estuvimos el seno familiar directo, mi madre, mis dos hermana, mi otra sobrinita y el novio de mi sobrina (la futuro ingeniero). Fue un día de celebración especial...
My niece is a lover of Italian food, so we selected a restaurant that served this type of food. We spent much of the afternoon there, between toasts, conversations, drinks and food. The immediate family was there, my mother, my two sisters, my other little niece and my niece's boyfriend (the future engineer). It was a special day of celebration...
Como la mayoría somos dulceros y amantes de un buen café no podía faltar un buen postre y un cafecito, para materializar ese gusto, nos fuimos aun café y allí disfrutamos de postres y ricas bebidas (café y té). Fue una velada muy dulce...llena de las anécdotas de mi sobrina durante su formación académica.
Since most of us are sweet lovers and lovers of good coffee, we couldn't miss a good dessert and a coffee, to materialize that pleasure, we went to a cafe and there we enjoyed desserts and delicious drinks (coffee and tea). It was a very sweet evening... full of my niece's anecdotes during her academic training.
