We are feeling grateful to you, O God,
For the blessing of Jesus Christ, the Savior.
We are grateful for the price he paid.
That we might have everlasting life, then.
We appreciate you for the afternoon sunshine.
The stars that illuminate the night.
For the seasons which never refuse to transform
And the darkness offers light its way.
We appreciate you for the daily bread, Lord,
And for your grace and for your mercy.
We are thankful for the air we breathe.
And the blessings which you give by faith.
We praise you for the joy and sorrow, O God,
Because of our tears and our smiles.
We are grateful to you for your family and friends
And all of those who belong to our lives.
We appreciate you at what you're defending us from.
And for the stuff that you're taking us though,
Also the hazards that we are unable to see,
Or when we're not sure what to do.
We thank you, our God, O Lord,
And for this, we give thanks.
Life and safety and well-being for
And all the positive stuff that the year will bring.
