One of the greatest blessings that a father can give to his son is correction. Now bible says that every scripture is given by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and is good for teaching, for correction, for reprove and for instruction that the man of God might be made perfect for every good works. Now see the depth of God’s love for man. He had already made corrections for all our mistake from the beginning.
Correction is God’s major way of establishing His people and who you are and what you have doesn’t hold a bearing on God, if you fail to embrace correction you will lose everything you have. Although the scripture settles that correction is not pleasant, you must however love it and continually seek for it. In reality, you must enjoy it when is it being given to you. Anyone who does not like correction will not last in life and destiny.
A true father anywhere in the world is not just interested in the presence of good points in your life, he is much more interested in the absence of bad points; and God is one good father who is consciously and consistently ensuring that the bad points in your life is done away with
Any good father knows that every time a man is demoted in life, whether publicly or privately, it is because of an unconquered weakness. This is one to the major why God gives fathers to us so that they can help us identify our areas of weakness and consequently eliminate them. A true son is always willing and ready for correction; when God directly or indirectly rebukes and chastises you, He is announcing to the world that He loves you.See Rev. 3:19 A man who is not corrected will impart errors to others. See Prov. 10:17
Although rebuke or correction is painful, it is like cutting cancer out of someone’s flesh. Correction will save the flesh and mature the spirit and when you reject correction, you will enter into an accord with the spirit of rebellion.
Have you noticed that all the people who were not corrected in the Bible and those that who were not corrected and those who rejected corrections did not make it? Adonijah, Judas Iscariot and Lot were not corrected and they perished.
Embrace correction from God, the word of God, your pastor, your natural parent, mentors and even friends who are ahead of you that God places around you and you will make it in Jesus Name. Amen.
