One of the most perennial issues that have remained a point of constant debate is the role faith and religion should play in contemporary society. This debate has continued to evoke mind boggling questions ; should the Church be greatly involved in affairs of social contemporaneity?... Or should it remain confined to and within the ambient of the sacred space?

Why the Church
The Church is properly understood as the people if God marked by characteristics that clearly distinguish them from all other religious, ethnic, political, or cultural groups found in history.
Given this understanding, many liberal minds insist that the Church ought to stay clear of socio-political issues. They question the rationale for the Church's involvement and interference in matters if secular import that are outside the confines of religious paraphernalia.

The role and distressed society can be summarized as a unique project of Christ animation ; allowing Christ and His tenets to permeate every aspect of the human and societal life. This leads to a form of reinvigoration and fosters a unique form of reconversion in line with the dictates and mind of Christ.
In this Christ-animation aspiration, the Church does not embrace the basic function of propounding definite technical systems in the secular sphere, rather the Church function as a "moral gadfly and watch dog, " stating principles of truth and justice, which inform public opinions and educate the moral conscience of the society.
