Genesis 9:1-6; Then God Bless his Noah and his sons and told them, "Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the Earth. All the animals of the earth, all the birds of the sky, all the small animals that scurry along the ground, and all the fish in the sea will look on you with fear and terror. I have placed them in your power. I have given them to you for food, just as I have given you grain and vegetables. But you must never eat any meat that still has the lifeblood in it." “And I will require the blood of anyone who takes another person’s life. If a wild animal kills a person, it must die. And anyone who murders a fellow human must die. If anyone takes a human life, that person’s life will also be taken by human hands. For God made human beings in his own image.
God gave man dominion over all things once again after the great flood, we already had this from the time of Adam and Eve after the creation, and notice how the Lord make reference once again to the fact that man was created in his own image and likeness. This goes to further confirm the power and authority vested in us by the Lord but with great power comes great responsibility and the adhering to instructions. In other words obedience.
In the time of Adam and Eve after everything was put in their possession the Lord instructed them not to eat from the tree and yet they did and that was the beginning of something new indeed, the world took a drastic turn. Now after the Lord re-established this dominion and authority for man he has once again given some instruction to follow which include not taking life of another man and many others.
For us to succeed in this life as sons and daughters of the most high and to be able to wield the power handed over to us, we need to abide by the instructions of the playbook it is that simple. So our message for today is that God is a God of justice and whiles he loves us so much it is important that we do not forget that man shall reap what man sows.
