Hello #HomeSolutions friends. Christmas brought a new wave of toys to my house, so I felt the need to reorganize the space where my son keeps his toys, one thing led to another, and I ended up getting rid of those that I no longer used and of course, giving a good cleaning to those that already have time with him. This process took some work and time, but I was satisfied with the result, as many were as good as new, plus I made room for the new arrivals.

Since today is #TipsForTheHome Wednesday, I decided to tell you a little about the process I followed to perform this cleaning, hoping that some of my steps will be useful to apply in your homes.
BEFORE CLEANING
The first thing is to divide them by material and prepare them for the cleaning procedure, in this step I start by classifying the toys according to their material: plastic, fabric and those with batteries. I do this to choose the most appropriate cleaning methods for each type. Next, I remove batteries and accessories that make cleaning difficult, or that may be damaged or lost during washing. I also inspect the condition of each one and separate those that need to be fixed, those that are to be given away or thrown away.
CLEANING
1.- Machine Washable Toys: fabric toys, such as stuffed animals and dolls, I usually wash them in a washing machine, first let them soak for half an hour in hot soapy water and process to select a delicate cycle and hang them in the shade. To prevent the most delicate ones from getting damaged, I place them inside pillowcases, although the ideal is to use special mesh laundry bags.
2.- Washable Plastic Toys: for this type of toys I prepare a tub with hot water and soap and I let them soak for thirty minutes, if necessary, I scrub them a little with an old toothbrush, then I rinse them with plenty of water and let them air dry. If they accumulate a lot of water or do not dry easily, I use a hair dryer with warm air to speed up the drying process.
3.- Non-Washable Plastic Toys: these seem to be the easiest to clean because they are not washable, however, precisely because of this it is very easy for them to become insufficiently clean. For these types of toys what I do is use a microfiber cloth lightly dampened with all-purpose cleaner, then spray with a little Lysol, which is a disinfectant spray. I have also gone so far as to use a cloth wipe moistened with antibacterial gel as a substitute for Lysol when I run out.
AFTER CLEANING
The most important thing at this point is to allow a complete drying of the toys before allowing the children to use them, as I mentioned, the fabric stuffed animals and dolls I let them dry hanging in the shade, while for the plastic ones I use a hair dryer to dry them quickly, it is important to do this with warm or cool air so as not to ruin them. This step is of utmost importance, as leaving the toys with humidity favors the growth of bacteria.
Along with these steps, it is also essential to teach children good habits of cleaning and care of their toys, this will not only facilitate our work, but will create in them a sense of responsibility with their belongings and to have good hygiene habits from an early age. Similarly, regular cleaning ensures that they are always in good condition, prevents diseases in the little ones of the house, in addition to preventing premature wear of the toys.

Estrategias de Limpieza para Juguetes Impecables
Hola, amigos de #HomeSolutions. La Navidad trajo consigo una nueva oleada de juguetes a mi casa, por lo que me vi en la necesidad de reorganizar el espacio donde mi hijo guarda sus juguetes, una cosa llevó a la otra y terminé deshaciéndome de los que ya no usaba y por supuesto, dándole una buena limpieza a los que ya tienen tiempo con él. Este proceso requirió algo de trabajo y tiempo, pero quedé satisfecha con el resultado, ya que muchos quedaron como nuevos, además de que hice espacio para los recién llegados.
Como hoy es miércoles de #TipsParaElHogar, decidí contarles un poco sobre el proceso que seguí para realizar esta limpieza, esperando que alguno de mis pasos les sirva para aplicarlo en sus hogares.
ANTES DE LA LIMPIEZA
Lo primero es dividirlos por material y prepararlos para el procedimiento limpieza, en este paso empiezo por clasificar los juguetes según su material: plástico, tela y los que llevan baterías. Esto lo hago para elegir los métodos de limpieza más apropiados para cada tipo. Posteriormente, quito baterías y accesorios que dificulten la limpieza, que se puedan estropear o perder durante el lavado. También inspecciono el estado de cada uno y separo los que deben arreglarse, lo que se van a regalar o a la basura.
LIMPIEZA
1.- Juguetes Lavables en Lavadora: los juguetes de tela, como peluches y muñecos, normalmente los lavo en lavadora, primero los dejo remojar media hora en agua caliente con jabón y proceso a seleccionar un ciclo delicado y los cuelgo a la sombra. Para evitar que los más delicados se dañen, los coloco dentro de fundas de almohadas, aunque lo ideal es usar bolsas de malla especiales para lavandería.
2.- Juguetes de Plástico Lavables: para este tipo de juguetes preparo una tina con agua caliente y jabón y los dejo remojar durante treinta minutos, si es necesario los tallo un poco con un cepillo de dientes viejo, posteriormente, los enjuago con abundante agua y los dejo secar al aire. Si acumulan mucha agua o no se secan fácilmente, utilizo una secadora de cabello con aire tibio para apresurar el proceso de secado.
3.- Juguetes de Plástico no Lavables: estos parecieran ser los más sencillos de limpiar porque no se lavan, sin embargo, precisamente por eso es muy fácil que no queden suficientemente limpios. Para este tipo de juguetes lo que hago es utilizar un paño de microfibra ligeramente humedecido con limpiador multiusos, posteriormente rocío con un poco de Lysol, que es un spray para desinfectar. También he llegado a usar una toallita de tela humedecida con gel antibacterial como sustitución del Lysol cuando se me acaba.
DESPUÉS DE LA LIMPIEZA
Lo más importante en este punto es permitir un secado completo de los juguetes antes de permitir que los niños los utilicen, como ya mencioné, los peluches y muñecos de tela los dejo secar colgados a la sombra, mientras que para los de plástico utilizo una secadora de cabello para secarlos rápidamente, es importante hacerlo con aire tibio o frío para no estropearlos. Este paso es de suma importancia, ya que dejar los juguetes con humedad favorece el crecimiento de bacterias.
A la par de estos pasos, también es importante enseñarles a los niños buenos hábitos de limpieza y cuidado de sus juguetes, esto no solo nos facilitará el trabajo, sino que creará en ellos un sentido de responsabilidad con sus pertenencias y a tener buenos hábitos de higiene desde temprana edad. De igual manera, realizar una limpieza periódica nos asegura que siempre estén en buen estado, evita enfermedades en los más pequeños de la casa, además de prevenir el desgaste prematuro de los juguetes.

No ha comenzado el año y ya estas activa con la limpieza y el orden.
Todos estos tips están geniales yo los peluches los lavo dentro de una funda, y también limpio los juguetes con un pañito húmedo pero no lo hago tan seguido como debería. Gracias por compartir estos tips geniales manita.
Yo limpio muy pocos con pañito, la mayoría los echo en agua caliente y jabón, porque este niño los chupa como si fueran paleta 🤣
Por eso mismo lo tengo que hacer por lo menos una vez al mes 😢

Buenísimo amiga, la verdad es que tengo los juguetes de Dari en bolsas porque no tengo espacio, ya casi no entramos en la habitación. Por ahora estoy en organización, limpieza y recuperación de los zapatos de la niña y más con los nuevos por la Navidad, eso si es una tarea para mi, porque estoy pendiente de su ropa y zapatos. Pero tus sugerencias son muy buenas, incluso también está la opción de revisar los juguetes para sacar los de regalar, eso me ayudaría con el espacio...

Parte del proceso es ese amiga, sacar lo que ya está en mal estado, que ninguna lavada o limpieza puede rescatar 😅
