I must say that I am a little bit surprised by this news - both ways, positive and negative, and I will explain it here.
First of all, one of the mechanics from Toksport, the team Andreas Mikkelsen drove for the last few seasons is my friend and he told me that Norwegian is really big professional and that's why he deserves to be where he is.
OK, he won three WRC events during his stint with Volkswagen Motorsport, he won Intercontinental Rally Challenge, he won twice WRC2 Championship and once European Rally Championship. If it is not enough to be a works driver in WRC1 class, then I don't know what is.
On the other hand, he is 34 at the moment and lots of young guns are knocking at the doors of World Rally Championship and if you think about bravery, youngsters are here.
But, Mikkelsen has an experience and in rallying, it is all about experience. And that counts. This is probably the last chance for him, so better not tp ruin it.
