Welshman Elfyn Evans didn't have World Rally Championship season of his dreams in 2022 but last rally of the season in Japan showed why he was fighting for the titles with Seb Ogier in 2020 and 2021.
It was only a small mistake he did at the last day of the rally that caused a puncture and after that, there was no chance for the win in Japan.
Overall it wasn't a good year for Evans but he still finished 4th overall in the championship. But don't forget that the quality of field at the top is not the best and there is lots of guys who share the 3rd car with no full season stint.
Evans revealed that he expects much better season witg Toyota next year and his team boss Jari-Matti Latvala is full of understanding for one of his drivers.
