I hope that you watched the live shakedown special stage from the link I gave you in yesterday's post. But shakedown is only for fine tuning of the car and last check if everything is OK.
Rally has already started and what I notice is the small number of competitors, unfortunately. But OK, rallying obviously isn't that popular down under plus it is extremly expensive when it comes to the outings in the World Rally Championship.
New Zealand Rally is back in the WRC after a pause of ten years and from what I heard, they won't be on the calendar next year. It is still not official but if this is true, then it is a real shame.
So super special stage has been run last night and Estonian Ott Tanak posted the fastest time for Hyundai, ahead of M-Sport Ford 's Craig Breen and another Hyundai top gun Thierry Neuville.
This was just the start of the rally and the real action starts in two hours now.
