What comes to your mind when you think about logic and imaginaiton? I guess very different and I would go on to say opposite things. However, is that even true? I am here to explore that for you and share the thought for the day with you all.
I have studied Political Science as my major subject. I have come across the different arguments of Plato and Aristotle over Logic and Senses. Senses are important as per Aristotle and not so important for Plato.
The thing that I am trying to imply here is that we need imagination to provide a premise to our logic. I would like to give you the example of an artist or a child who is drawing. A child does not know any logic or rules to follow for drawing. He just follows his imagination to draw things. Similarly, an architect does not simply go on and make the designs of buildings, but makes a rough draft using his imagination in his mind.
I got to learn about it when I was in 9th class. I was really bad in logical reasoning and drawing classes. This is where my teacher, ma'am Zulaikha, came into scene. She told me that I have to understand such things with my imaginaiton. I did this and it was very hard at first. I used to create fake and imaginative scenarios in my mind to solve problems. This is the part, I think, maximized by writers and authors.
Logic is something I have always tried to induce in my life. I try to think rationally in difficult and often traumatic situations. I also use my imaginations in similar situation to find answers.
Once, when I was in college, when I was not doing great with my grades, my social life was turning upside down and I was failing everywhere. I used my imagination to think through this and I thought about every possible scenario that could go wrong and right if I continued this way. My imagination ran wild and I concluded that my life would be a disaster if I did not become a rational being. This was a changing moment in my life. I now teach at a reputable school as a subject specialist.
