Mistake I made last week

We learn everyday, sometimes they aren't new , but a reminder of a lesson we probably may have forgotten. In a few words, what I learned last week again was "never to expect anything". It's hard to live without expectations, maybe this is part of being human but we can manage at what rate we put trust on things which aren't at hand. The simple principle is ; never to make plans with what we don't have yet, oftentimes people end up being disappointed and stranded while looking for a way out. Now this is what happened last week that stirred up this lesson.

A friend of mine who wanted to wed sent me her wedding invitation. The date seemed perfect, because I was expecting some money before the set date. It would have been better if I had kept quiet while expecting the money but I went ahead to make her a promise. What seemed like a long time came faster than I was expecting and I ended up not fulfilling my promise because what I was expecting didn't come up till this very moment. I didn't know how to approach her but still ended up making another promise with the expectation that what I was expecting would come.

What I realized was that; it's better not to say anything rather than making promises and not fulfilling them. No matter how pressured we feel to make a contribution or pledge certain things, one should learn to say nothing and do according to his ability. Most expectations disappear into thin air like the smoke, so why make a promise with what's abstract. Now I have a promise still wrapped around my neck because of the mistake I made last week, promising what I don't have yet. I believe this mistake has taught me more silence than eagerness to make promises.

when bull comes, you will be able to fulfil all your promises but for now, stop making more promises cos it will only make the bull appear late lol

Hahahahaha. Never knew I was the one holding the bull back. But noted, I stopped last week

Even if you have do not make promises, just do which you can do. Thanks for sharing.
