Some years ago, I just saw how a lot of things I used to do, a lot of things I used to see as normal, and a lot of things I used to advise people on changed in my mind, and I can say that exposure has been the teacher of these things to me.
I want to channel this topic to how I see the church lifestyle.

For people who know me down to my real life outside of the Hive Blockchain, they can testify that I'm a church person, judging by the way I adore worshipping God on Sundays and other days of the week as the opportunity allows.
Back in the days, I used to skip hustling during weekdays to attend church. I believed that seeking the Lord at all times, even when the time clashed with one's schedule, was all one needed to excel in life. Those days, I hardly went out to hustle on Saturdays because we usually had Saturday church programs that always started in the morning. I hardly missed any programs fixed for weekdays. Like, I would skip going to work to attend those events. I was crazily committed, and I think things were very fine with me then too, to have coped with missing work and staying in church all through the day. Although I worked as an employed staff member in the church, I'm not referring to that period when I was employed.
Then, exposure came in, and I saw that it's somehow foolish to skip work to attend church events when it's not a normal church day, especially when the time clashes with work hours. One can only do that when they're free.
These days, the world has changed a lot, and clergymen have been coming out to point out that it's foolishness to abandon one's business or work, which is their source of earning a living, to sleep in church. God bless these clergymen who have been saying this truth. But then, a lot of churches still hold events that last all through the days of the week and make it mandatory for everyone to attend.
These days, you can never see me skip my source of income on a day that's not supposed to be a church day to attend church. Naaaaaah!
There's always a place for wisdom.
Oftentimes, they make announcements for events on weekdays, and anytime they follow the direction of making it compulsory for some set of people, I smile because if I skip my work, how would I feed? Oh yeah, I know God will provide, but it's totally wrong to depend on God for such provision when God has given me the strength to work and a business to manage.
Thanks for reading.
