The Biggest Mistakes I Made Last Week

Greetings everyone. I'm so glad to be participating in the weekly prompt of the Hivestudent Connect.

One of the biggest mistakes I made last week was procrastination. I had plans to do something meaningful that could benefit my life and the people around me, but every day I kept postponing it. People always say that procrastination destroys plans, and now I completely agree.

I remember a similar experience from my school days. My friends suggested that we pick two days every week for group reading since exams were approaching. But I always told them that there was still plenty of time. Many of them agreed with me, but the funny part was that they secretly went ahead and studied without telling me. When exam day finally came, I realized I wasn’t prepared at all. The moment the exam started, my friends were almost finishing their papers. I even asked one of them for help, but he told me, “One day, procrastination will destroy you.” Those words hurt, but they were true.

After the exam, my course mates talked about how easy and interesting the paper was, but for me it was very difficult because I didn’t prepare. That night, I made up my mind to change. I read so hard that even my hostel mates were surprised. The next day, during the exam, I finished my paper in just 45 minutes. This time, my friends were the ones calling me for help. I simply advised them to study when they are supposed to study.

After that exam, many of them told me that I had changed and that I no longer procrastinate. That experience taught me that procrastination will never help anyone go far in life.

Thanks for reading.

It's good that you changed because reading is supposed to be everyday not even twice a week, thanks for sharing 👍
