¡Hola! ¿Cómo están? Espero que muy bien. En esta oportunidad quiero comenzar comentándoles que me encantan las producciones (películas, series, historietas, etc) de Marvel y DC. No escojo ningún bando porque sinceramente disfruto mucho con los personajes de ambas casas. Me encanta Superman, Batman, Acquaman, Luke Cage, los 4 fantásticos, etc. Algunas de mis películas favoritas de superhéroes son: Superman (1978), Spider-Man 2 (2004), Iron Man (2008), la trilogía de Batman de Christopher Nolan, entre otras.
Dicho esto, quiero contarles cómo fue mi experiencia para adquirir una entrada para ver en el cine Vengadores: End Game (2019).
Película que trae el fin de la historia de varios personajes principales del universo cinematográfico de Marvel. No sé cómo habrá sido en otros países pero en Venezuela, el estreno de esta película fue todo un suceso. Obviamente, vi innumerables veces los tráileres por redes sociales, no se puede negar que estos, especialmente para los que vieron las películas anteriores de Marvel y concretamente la anterior a esta (Vengadores: Infinity War, 2018), tenían épica.
Yo vi 3 veces en el cine Vengadores: Infinity War, dicho esto último creo que sobra decir que la película me gustó mucho. Si tuviera que realizar un top 5 personal de las mejores películas de Marvel, Vengadores: Infinity War se encuentra dentro de ese top fácilmente.
Por supuesto que tenía en mente que era casi imposible adquirir una entrada durante las primeras semanas de estreno, asumí que la preventa había sido un éxito rotundo, ante eso no tuve otra opción que esperar alrededor de 3 semanas para intentar comprar una entrada. Tengo la fortuna que cerca de donde vivo actualmente, hay un cine cerca. Para ese momento (no existía el covid-19), yo estudiaba y trabajaba de lunes a viernes, mis únicos días libres eran sábado y domingo. En Venezuela, los fines de semana suelen ser los momentos durante la semana donde más la gente acude al cine (también son los días más caros para acudir al cine). A pesar de esto, decidí intentar ver la película un domingo en la tarde.

Having said that, I want to tell you about my experience buying a ticket to see Avengers: End Game (2019) at the cinema.
A film that brings the end of the story of several main characters of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. I don't know how it would have been in other countries, but in Venezuela, the premiere of this film was quite an event. I saw the trailers countless times on social networks, it cannot be denied that these, especially for those who saw the previous Marvel movies and specifically the one before this one (Avengers: Infinity War, 2018), were epic.
I saw Avengers: Infinity War 3 times in the cinema, having said the latter, I think I liked the movie a lot. If I had to make a personal top 5 of the best Marvel movies, Avengers: Infinity War easily falls within that top.
Of course, I had in mind that it was almost impossible to get a ticket during the first weeks of release, I assumed that the presale had been a resounding success, so I had no choice but to wait about 3 weeks to try to buy a ticket. I am fortunate that near where I currently live, there is a cinema nearby. At that time (covid-19 did not exist), I studied and worked from Monday to Friday, my only days off were Saturday and Sunday. In Venezuela, weekends are usually the times during the week when more people go to the movies (they are also the most expensive days to go to the movies). Despite this, I decided to try to see the film on a Sunday afternoon.
Primer intento
Mis recuerdos son algo vagos pero estoy seguro que el día antes o ese mismo día en la mañana yo había consultado previamente en la página web del cine, cuáles eran las funciones disponibles para esa tarde, había elegido una función que comenzaba a las 3. Me gustaba esa hora porque la película duraba cerca de 3 horas, entonces si ingresaba a las 3, iba a estar saliendo de esta aproximadamente a las 6. A esa hora en Caracas (Venezuela) todavía la luz del sol alumbra las calles, por lo tanto no iba a llegar de noche a mi casa. Asunto importante (al menos para mí) porque en primer lugar, Caracas es una de las ciudades más peligrosas del mundo, además la zona donde vivo es solitaria por lo general y para ese momento, la calle donde vivo tenía poca iluminación. Cabe destacar que si bien había revisado los horarios de las funciones, no llegué a comprar nada por internet porque 1) No sabía cómo hacerlo exactamente y 2) Porque honestamente pensaba que para esas fechas era probable conseguir una entrada.
En mi mente pensaba salir de mi casa minutos antes de que abriera el centro comercial donde se encontraba el cine, este abría sus puertas al mediodía aproximadamente. Recuerdo salir de mi casa y notar el calor que hacía en las calles, como dije antes la zona donde vivo suele ser solitaria, pocas personas me topé durante el recorrido.
El trayecto (caminando) de mi hogar hasta el centro comercial toma como 10 minutos. Al momento de llegar a la entrada del centro comercial este todavía se encontraba cerrado, algo que me llamó la atención es que había un grupo pequeño de personas esperando alrededor de dicha entrada, alguno pudiera pensar que se trataba de personas que simplemente querían dar un paseo por el centro comercial pero en este grupo de personas había niños pequeños. Una vez escuché que solo los niños y los borrachos dicen la verdad, entonces estos niños no dudaron en comentar la razón por la que estaban ahí y esa razón no podía ser otra que ver End Game en el cine.
Estuve esperando en la entrada como 10 o 15 minutos hasta que finalmente abrió el centro comercial. Lo que voy a contar a continuación es una de las experiencias más locas que he vivido hasta ahora en mi vida, el centro comercial abrió y yo ingresé a este caminando a una velocidad relativamente rápida porque sabía que una de las primeras cosas que abren dentro de este centro comercial son los cines y las colas para adquirir entradas se crean en cuestión de minutos. El cine dentro de este centro comercial se ubica en el último piso, este centro comercial se caracteriza por sus escaleras automáticas, hay ascensores dentro de este pero son pocos y no están a simple vista por lo que mayoritariamente la gente suele utilizar las escaleras automáticas para desplazarse dentro de este.
Entonces yo iba caminando dentro de las instalaciones, no llegaron a transcurrir ni cinco minutos y de repente escuché una mezcla entre risas y ruidos, yo estaba totalmente concentrado en lo que estaba escuchando hasta que ubiqué mi atención en lo que me estaban mostrando mis ojos en aquel instante, y es que la gente estaba corriendo dentro del centro comercial. ¿Por qué corría la gente? ¿Y hacia donde se dirigía? Hacia a las escaleras automáticas y estas no se detenían en ningún piso, iban directamente hacia arriba.
Mi cerebro en cuestión de milésimas de segundo llegó a la conclusión de que esta gente estaba en el centro comercial por la misma razón que yo, ir al cine. Acto seguido, empecé a correr también dentro de este hasta llegar al último piso donde se encontraba el cine. Como eran varios pisos y los escalones de las escaleras automáticas son más o menos elevados, llegué a la entrada del cine con la frente empapada en sudor y con un rio de este corriendo sobre mi espalda. Cuando llegué obviamente ya se había formado una cola más o menos considerable. Sin embargo, yo me coloqué dentro de esta porque en la taquilla había una pantalla que indicaba las funciones y el número de asientos disponibles, dada mi posición dentro de la cola y lo que indicaba la pantalla, yo pensaba que aún tenía posibilidades de adquirir una entrada. Desafortunadamente, cuando ya estaba a pocos metros de la taquilla la pantalla indicó que los asientos disponibles para esa función se habían agotado. Entre la gente que compró su entrada por internet y los que llegaron antes que yo a la cola, me arrebataron ese día la oportunidad de ver la última producción de Marvel. No obstante, soy una persona que no se rinde a la primera vez, así que ese día me dije que lo iba a intentar el próximo domingo a la misma hora.
First attempt
My memories are somewhat vague but I am sure that the day before or that same day in the morning I had previously consulted on the cinema's website, what were the functions available for that afternoon, I had chosen a function that began at 3. I liked that time because the movie lasted about 3 hours, so if I entered at 3, I would be leaving it at approximately 6. At that time in Caracas (Venezuela) the sunlight still illuminates the streets, therefore I wasn't going to come home at night. An important issue (at least for me) because first of all, Caracas is one of the most dangerous cities in the world, also the area where I live is usually lonely and at that time, the street where I live had little lighting. It should be noted that although I had checked the showtimes, I did not buy anything online because 1) I did not know exactly how to do it and 2) Because I honestly thought that for those dates it was possible to get a ticket.
In my mind I was thinking of leaving my house minutes before the opening of the shopping center where the cinema was located, it opened its doors at approximately noon. I remember leaving my house and noticing how hot it was in the streets, as I said before, the area where I live is usually lonely, I ran into few people during the tour.
The journey (walking) from my home to the mall takes about 10 minutes. At the time of arriving at the entrance of the shopping center, it was still closed, something that caught my attention is that there was a small group of people waiting around said entrance, some might think that they were people who simply wanted to take a walk. around the mall but in this group of people there were small children. Once I heard that only children and drunks tell the truth, so these children did not hesitate to comment on the reason why they were there and that reason could not be other than to see End Game in the cinema.
I was waiting at the entrance for like 10 or 15 minutes until the mall finally opened. What I am going to tell you next is one of the craziest experiences that I have lived so far in my life, the shopping center opened and I entered it walking at a relatively fast speed because I knew that one of the first things that opened inside this shopping center is the cinemas and the queues to buy tickets are created in a matter of minutes. The cinema inside this shopping center is located on the top floor, this shopping center is characterized by its automatic stairs, there are elevators inside it but they are few and they are not visible to the naked eye, so most people usually use the automatic stairs to move within it.
Then I was walking inside the facilities, not even five minutes had passed and suddenly I heard a mixture of laughter and noise, I was focused on what I was listening to until I focused my attention on what my eyes were showing me at that moment, and it is that people were running inside the mall. Why were people running? And where was he headed? I went to the escalators and they didn't stop at any floor, they went straight up.
My brain in a matter of milliseconds concluded that these people were at the mall for the same reason I was, going to the movies. Immediately afterward, I started to run inside it too until I reached the top floor where the cinema was located. As there were several floors and the steps of the escalators are more or less high, I arrived at the entrance of the cinema with my forehead soaked in sweat and with a river of it running on my back. When I arrived, obviously a more or less considerable queue had already formed. However, I placed myself inside this one because at the box office there was a screen that indicated the functions and the number of seats available, given my position in the queue and what the screen indicated, I thought that I still had the possibility of acquiring an entry. Unfortunately, when he was already a few meters from the box office, the screen indicated that the seats available for that function had been sold out. Between the people who bought their tickets online and those who arrived before me in line, they took away from me that day the opportunity to see the latest Marvel production. However, I am a person who does not give up the first time, so that day I told myself that I was going to try it next Sunday at the same time.
Segundo intento
Aquí no hay mucho que contar porque hice exactamente lo mismo que hice antes. Esta vez tampoco pude ver End Game, la única diferencia con la vez pasada es que estuve más cerca de llegar a la taquilla antes de que se agotaran las entradas.
Tercer intento
Se dice que la tercera vez es la vencida. Esto ya era una cuestión personal, yo tenía que ver esa película de una forma u otra en ese cine, a esa hora. Volví hacer exactamente lo mismo que hice en las 2 últimas veces pero esta vez la suerte estuvo conmigo, llegué a la cola en una posición que me permitió conseguir el último… realmente el ultimo asiento disponible para la función. El asiento estaba un poco cerca de la pantalla y cuando finalmente ingresé a la sala, este no estaba en las mejores condiciones pero después de tanto esfuerzo para conseguir la entrada no podía quejarme.
Les confieso que hubo un momento en que llegué a pensar que me iba a volver ocurrir lo que me había ocurrido antes 2 veces. Ya me imaginaba otra vez en ese retorno a casa sin gloria.
Tanta era mi emoción por haber conseguido la bendita entrada que lo primero que hice al tenerla en mi mano fue tomarle una foto con mi teléfono y subir esa foto a mis redes sociales presumiendo lo que para mí era un triunfo equivalente a obtener un 20 en una evaluación académica.
Second try
Here there is not much to tell because I did the same as I did before. This time I couldn't see End Game either, the only difference from last time is that I was closer to making it to the box office before tickets sold out.
Third try
It is said that the third time is the charm. This was already a personal matter, I had to see that movie one way or another in that theater, at that time. I did the same thing I did the last 2 times but this time luck was with me, I got to the queue in a position that allowed me to get the last…really the last seat available for the show. The seat was a bit close to the screen and when I finally got into the room it wasn't in the best condition but after so much effort to get the ticket I couldn't complain.
I confess that there was a time when I thought that what had happened to me twice before would happen to me again. I already imagined myself again in that return home without glory.
I was so excited to have gotten the blessed ticket that the first thing I did when I held it in my hand took a photo of it with my phone and upload that photo to my social networks showing off what for me was a victory equivalent to getting a 20 in an academic evaluation.
¿Valió la pena el esfuerzo?
Me gustaría escribir una publicación dedicada exclusivamente a mi opinión de la película. Mientras tanto solo les diré que la película a nivel visual es muy buena, estoy seguro que tiene algunos de los mejores momentos de todo el universo cinematográfico de Marvel, tiene una primera hora en que se atreve a colocar a los protagonistas en una situación poco habitual pero en lo personal, se me hicieron algo largas las casi 3 horas de duración, la película entretiene pero a mí no me emocionó del todo y cuando salí del cine, no quede con ganas de volverla a ver y efectivamente, desde que la vi aquella vez en el cine no la he vuelto a ver hasta ahora. No me ocurrió lo que me había ocurrido antes con Infinity War.
It was worth the effort?
I would like to write a post dedicated exclusively to my opinion of the film. Meanwhile, I will only tell you that the film is very good on a visual level, I am sure that it has some of the best moments in the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe, it has a first hour in which it dares to place the protagonists in an unusual situation but personally, the almost 3 hours of duration seemed a bit long to me, the film entertains but it did not move me at all and when I left the cinema, I did not want to see it again and indeed, since I saw that one once in the cinema I have not seen it again until now. It didn't happen to me what happened to me before with Infinity War.
