Today I have a post about something I really like, I went out with @Solsticia, she was going to prepare a photographic post about the colonial zone of Coro, and that's more or less what I wanted to talk to you about. I have always loved painting and photography as a consequence, perhaps it is the art of my profession as a writer to look for images that can become a meaning for me.
Sin embargo, no soy un creador en sí de esas imágenes sino más bien un testigo, tomo esta palabra de Julio Cortázar, un escritor argentino quien escribiese una novela conocida como Rayuela, creo que el papel del testigo es importante, saber y admirar que algo ocurrió en el mundo es lo que permite heredar la visión que sobre las cosas se tiene y además extender a otros esa visión, lo cual es quizá una de las cosas que nos haga seres vivientes.
However, I am not a creator of these images, but rather a witness, I take this word from Julio Cortázar, an Argentine writer who wrote a novel known as Hopscotch, I believe that the role of the witness is important, knowing and admiring that something happened in the world is what allows us to inherit the vision that we have about things and also extend that vision to others, which is perhaps one of the things that makes us living beings.
Ahora bien, lo que les muestra en esta ocasión es una selección de fotografías realizadas durante el proceso de trabajo de @Solsticia, creo que es importante señalar la búsqueda de la mirada, la luz y el color, que es el principio de la fotografía, y que termina conjugándose con lo que nos presenta el mundo, disfruto ver a las personas trabajar apasionadamente, en cualquier arte y en ese sentido la búsqueda de los fotógrafos por aportar una nueva mirada sobre lo que siempre ha sido en el mundo me parece maravilloso.
Now, what I am showing you on this occasion is a selection of photographs taken during the work process of @Solsticia, I think it is important to point out the search for gaze, light and color, which is the beginning of photography, and that ends up combining with what the world presents us, I enjoy seeing people work passionately, in any art and in that sense the search of photographers to provide a new look at what has always been in the world seems wonderful to me.
Intentar y ver, contorsionarse de manera de que se pueda captar la belleza en lo que se presenta, a la luz exacta que han estudiado durante días, para captar la temperatura y el color deseados, mucha gente suele pensar que el oficio de los fotógrafos es solo estar ahí, casi accidentalmente, para captar la imagen que se busca, no niego que haya imágenes logradas a través de ello, pero la fotografía va mucho más allá, sobretodo esta que se hace al aire libre, y en la que está implícita una conciencia sobre el clima y el comportamiento de la luz, la manera en que los cuerpos y las estructuras se dejan describir a su paso.
To try and see, to contort in such a way that you can capture the beauty in what is presented, in the exact light that they have studied for days, to capture the desired temperature and color, many people tend to think that the profession of photographers is just being there, almost accidentally, to capture the image that is sought, I do not deny that there are images achieved through it, but photography goes much further, especially this one that is done outdoors, and in which a awareness about the climate and the behavior of light, the way in which bodies and structures allow themselves to be described in its path.
Es por eso que digo que es un trabajo apasionado, en el que los ojos buscar ver incluso más allá de lo se presenta a simple vista y dar a otros el poder de esa mirada, pintar con la luz es más complejo de lo que parece, por eso es tan importante tener un conocimiento preciso del cómo captar las imágenes, llenando de composición y significado en apenas un instante, la verdad es complicada y difícil de digerir en comunidad, pero el arte y la fotografía son cosas que nos permiten observar a través de las percepciones distintas.
That is why I say that it is a passionate work, in which the eyes seek to see even beyond what is presented to the naked eye and give others the power of that gaze, painting with light is more complex than it seems, that is why it is so important to have a precise knowledge of how to capture images, filling them with composition and meaning in just an instant, the truth is complicated and difficult to digest in community, but art and photography are things that allow us to observe through of different perceptions.
Finalmente, les quería decir que el valor sobre lo que captamos es una manera de transformar la percepción de los otros, los fotógrafos son quienes obran en favor de la memoria colectiva, y en ello perpetuar la manera en que hemos vivido a través del tiempo. Un ciudad es esa ciudad apenas unos años, nosotros mismos cambiamos, vemos como cambiamos y crecemos, y entre otras cosas hay que ser capaces de captar lo que la vida nos muestra.

Finally, I wanted to tell you that the value of what we capture is a way to transform the perception of others, photographers are the ones who work in favor of collective memory, and in doing so perpetuate the way we have lived through time.
