A common denominator in all the photographs is that in all cases they are failures in the pipes that are responsible for transporting water from rivers or runoff from one side of the road to the other, as soon as we arrived at the first stop we could see how it has created a fairly large circular crater and how you can see in the background the deteriorated pipe, it is incredible to see the depth of the fault, the thickness of the asphalt layer and how despite being so much land it has completely collapsed only by the constant presence of water.
Despite being a field trip I could not avoid leaving aside my growing passion for photography so I was also looking for perspectives and landscapes worthy of being photographed and although my experience in photography is little I consider that I managed to capture good pictures of both the green plains and the road.
Something really amazing, as well as worrying was how as we progressed greater faults appeared in the road to the point of having segments practically collapsed and where the depth of the collapsed area came to exceed the height of several of us, you could see how these faults continue to grow and despite having great size you can notice how the asphalt on the edges continues to give way to increase the damage.

Two aspects that I liked a lot of the landscape were first the visual contrast that occurred between the great plains, both the road and the paddocks were flat almost as far as the eye could see, but at the end you could also see several hills in the distance. Another aspect that undoubtedly made me take several pictures were the herds of cattle that appeared along the road, very nice and relaxing shots of the cattle resting in the shade.

Finally at the end of the tour we saw how a bridge had collapsed almost completely due to the effects of water, the most shocking were the dimensions of the pipes under the bridge and that were destroyed, they had a diameter of 4 meters which was certainly something impressive, To be able to enter standing inside the pipe to make the measurements and see how much space was left over was something incredible, the most shocking thing to analyze is how the current river level is quite low just a few centimeters deep but it grows so much in the winter season that it required three pipes of 4 meters in diameter to control its causal.
It is incredible and frightening the force of nature and how it can have such drastic changes in its magnitude depending on the season of the year in which we find ourselves, this is why it is always important to think about the future and all the possibilities that nature can bring us.

En estos momentos me encuentro terminando el penúltimo semestre de mis estudios universitarios de Ingeniería Civil y hace unos pocos días tuve la suerte de tener una salida de campo muy interesante y además muy instructiva para poder ver de primera mano los grandes daños y peligros que nos puede acarrear la mala canalización del aguas en la vialidad en especial en las carreteras rurales las cuales ademes de contar con mayor presencia de caudales de agua en las épocas de invierno, también suelen contar con menos mantenimientos provocando que lleguen a suceder casos tan drásticos como los que les mostrare.

Un común denominador en todas las fotografías es que en todos los casos se tratan de fallas en las tuberías que se encargan de transportar el agua de ríos o escorrentías de un lado de la vía a la otra, apenas llegamos en la primera parada pudimos ver como se ha creado un cráter circular bastante grande y como se puede ver de fondo la tubería deteriorada, es increíble ver la profundidad de la falla, el espesor de la capa asfáltica y como a pesar de ser tanto terreno el mismo ha colapsado completamente únicamente por la presencia constante del agua.
A pesar de ser una salida de campo no podía evitar dejar de lado mi creciente pasión por la fotografía por lo cual todo momento también buscaba perspectivas y paisajes dignos de ser fotografiados y aunque mi experiencia en la fotografía es poco considero que logre capturas buenas fotografías tanto de las verdes llanuras como de la carretera.
Algo realmente asombroso, así como preocupante era como a medida que avanzábamos aparecían mayores fallas en la carretera hasta el punto de tener segmentos prácticamente colapsados y en donde la profundidad del área colapsaba llegaba a superar la altura de varios de nosotros, se podía apreciar cómo estas fallas siguen creciendo y a pesar de tener gran tamaño puedes notar como el asfalto en los bordes sigue cediendo para aumentar el daño.

Dos aspectos que me gustaban mucho del paisaje eran primero el contraste visual que se producía entre las grandes planicies, tanto la carretera como los potreros era planos casi hasta donde llega la vista, pero al final también podías apreciar varias colinas a la distancia. Otro aspecto que sin dudas me hizo tomar varias fotografías fueron los rebaños de ganado que aparecían a lo largo de la carretera, tomas muy agradables y relajantes del ganado descansando a la sombra.

Las escenas más impactantes fueron casi al final de recorrido en donde podíamos apreciar los grandes daños causados en dos puntos concretos, el primero en donde no solo una gran parte de la vía estaba destruida, también se podía ver la fuerza del agua colina abajo en donde ha ido creando una gran grieta en el terreno la cual llega hasta donde termina el horizonte demostrado los peligros de construir en sitios aledaños a corrientes de ríos o flujos de agua y ser terrenos vulnerables, es asombroso ver el perfil de terreno en donde se puede notar como ha sido tanto el deterioro y relleno que el asfalto queda varios centímetros por debajo de la actual capa del terreno.
Por ultimo al final del recorrido vimos como un puente había colapsado prácticamente por complete debido a los efectos del agua, lo más impactante eran las dimensiones de las tuberías por debajo del puente y que se encontraban destruidas, las mismas tenían un diámetro de 4 metros lo cual sin duda era algo impresionante, poder ingresar de pie dentro de la tubería para hacer la mediciones y ver como sobraba una gran cantidad de espacio fue algo increíble, lo más impactante de analizar es como el nivel del rio actual es bastante bajo apenas unos centímetros de profundidad pero el mismo llega a crecer tanto en la época de invierno que se requería tres tuberías de 4 metros de diámetro para poder controlar su causal.
Es increíble y atemorizante la fuerza de la naturaleza y como puede tener cambios tan drásticos en su magnitud dependiendo de la estación del año en la que nos encontremos, por esto siempre es importante pensar en el futuro y en todas las posibilidades que nos puede deparar la naturaleza
