Greetings to all, my name is Yoni José Smith. I was born on June 26, 1962 in Güiria, Valdez Municipality, Sucre State, Venezuela. I am an anthropologist, graduated from the School of Anthropology of the Central University of Venezuela on July 21, 1989.

Saludos a todos y todas, mi nombre es Yoni José Smith. Nací el 26 de junio de 1962 en Güiria, Municipio Valdez del estado Sucre, Venezuela. Soy antropólogo, graduado en la Escuela de Antropología de la Universidad Central de Venezuela el 21 de julio de 1989.
I express my joy for being able to venture into this great community and, in advance, I want to thank @iscrak who is the person who has helped me in this incursion. He has kindly explained to my wife, Dr. @lourdesmata1, and to me how this decentralized social networking platform, Peakd, works and has opened up to us the great universe of possibilities, knowledge and training that it offers.
Expreso mi alegría por poder incursionar en esta gran comunidad y, de antemano, quiero agradecer a @iscrak quien es la persona que me ha ayudado en esta incursión. De manera amable, nos ha explicado a mi esposa, la Dra. @lourdesmata13 y a mí el funcionamiento de esta plataforma de redes sociales descentralizada, Peakd, y nos ha abierto el gran universo de posibilidades, conocimiento y formación que significa.
I will make a presentation that will include a brief overview of the elements with which I will work in Peakd, and in turn, these will serve me to point out my hobbies, interests, hobbies and passions.
Voy a realizar una presentación que incluirá una breve reseña de los elementos con los cuales trabajaré en Peakd, y a su vez, estos me servirán para ir señalando mis aficiones, intereses, hobbies y pasiones.
On the other hand, I will always try to give an anthropological and historical content to the writings that I will present throughout this experience, which I foresee will be very positive. Another element that I will take into account is the diffusion of the things of my country, Venezuela, and of the city of Caracas, our capital.
Por otra parte, siempre trataré de darle un contenido antropológico e histórico a los escritos que presente a lo largo de esta experiencia, la cual vislumbro será muy positiva. Otro elemento que tomaré en cuenta es la difusión de las cosas de mi país, Venezuela, y de la ciudad de Caracas, nuestra capital.
I currently reside in the city of Caracas, where I have lived for 37 years. Caracas is a very beautiful and cosmopolitan city, a melting pot of cultures, receiving different nationalities such as Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Haitian, Trinidadian, etc., which gave rise to the great variety of ethnic groups that populate it with a remarkable miscegenation.
Actualmente, resido en la ciudad de Caracas, donde vivo desde hace 37 años. Caracas es una urbe muy bella y cosmopolita, un crisol de culturas, receptora de diferentes nacionalidades como la italiana, española, portuguesa, haitiana, trinitaria, etc., que dieron origen a la gran variedad de grupos étnicos que la pueblan con un notable mestizaje.
The ethnic origin of the inhabitants is marked by Afro-descendant, indigenous and European populations, that is, three cultures and one city, which gives rise to the spectacular cultural diversity it possesses and the physical and spiritual beauty of its inhabitants. This characteristic has given birth to a very rich population center, which is expressed in different cultural ethos where a set of values, beliefs, customs, traditions and dialects that characterize it can be observed.
La procedencia étnica de los habitantes está marcada por poblaciones afrodescendientes, indígenas y europeas, es decir, tres culturas y una ciudad, lo cual da origen a la espectacular diversidad cultural que posee y a la belleza física y espiritual de sus habitantes. Esta característica ha dado nacimiento a un centro poblacional muy rico, que se expresa en diferentes ethos culturales donde se observan un conjunto de valores, creencias, costumbres, tradiciones y dialectos que la caracterizan.
In the development of my activities in Peakd, I plan to integrate my knowledge in the social and cultural meaning of these manifestations, outlining some elements of musical traditions, among them the canyon music, dance and typical dances of the caraqueño, salsa, aguinaldos and parrandas, which reinforce the identity of the caraqueño with the city and with the country, Venezuela.
I will present religious celebrations such as patron saint festivities, Christmas, Holy Week with the Burning of Judas, Carnivals, the Cross of May, San Juan, etcetera.
En el desarrollo de mis actividades en Peakd, proyecto integrar mis conocimientos en el significado social y cultural de esas manifestaciones, reseñando algunos elementos de las tradiciones musicales, entre ellos la música cañonera, la danza y los bailes típicos del caraqueño, la salsa, aguinaldos y parrandas, que refuerzan la identidad del caraqueño con la ciudad y con el país, Venezuela.
Presentaré celebraciones religiosas tales como fiestas patronales, la Navidad, Semana Santa con la Quema de Judas, Carnavales, la Cruz de Mayo, San Juan, etcétera
I feel great interest in historical facts and architectural works, taking into account that the city of Caracas is very rich in constructions where modern buildings coexist with very old and valuable structures. I intend to integrate the historical with architecture, given the interest I have always felt for history and for the reading of historical facts. I will work on the theme of architecture, emphasizing the historical value of these constructions.
Siento gran interés por los hechos históricos y las obras arquitectónicas, tomando en cuenta que la ciudad de Caracas es muy rica en construcciones donde se observan edificaciones modernas, coexistiendo con estructuras muy antiguas y valiosas. Me propongo integrar lo histórico con la arquitectura, dado el interés que siempre he sentido por la historia y por la lectura de los hechos históricos. Trabajaré el tema de la arquitectura haciendo énfasis en el valor histórico de estas construcciones.
In the old buildings lie part of the history of our country and events of great importance for our nation took place, such as the Liberator's Birthplace, the National Pantheon, the Quinta Anauco, the Miraflores Palace, the Casa Amarilla, the Casa del Vínculo and the Casa del Retorno, the latter building linked to the Venezuelan Independence Process.
En las edificaciones antiguas reposan parte de la historia de nuestro país y se desarrollaron eventos de gran trascendencia para nuestra nación, tales como la Casa Natal del Libertador, el Panteón Nacional, la Quinta Anauco, el Palacio de Miraflores, la Casa Amarilla, la Casa del Vínculo y del Retorno, este último edificio ligado al Proceso de Independencia de Venezuela.
In the architectural aspect, I will develop a concept that I have called “the aerial Caracas”, making visible the buildings that we do not notice that they exist even though we pass near them every day, perhaps because we rarely look up, we always look at the ground or at an imaginary line towards the center, almost never upwards.
En lo arquitectónico, desarrollaré un concepto que he denominado "la Caracas aérea", visibilizando las edificaciones que no notamos que existen aunque transitemos cerca de ellas todos los días, motivado quizás a que pocas veces observamos hacia arriba, siempre fijamos la mirada hacia el suelo o a una línea imaginaria hacia el centro, casi nunca hacia arriba.
Another aspect that I plan to do around architecture is the one referring to the churches of the metropolitan area of Caracas, looking at this element from different perspectives in the religious, historical and cultural content of each temple.
I will also open space to include information about the squares of Caracas. These are meeting places for the inhabitants of the city. Around them, I will look for the cultural aspects that take place in the Caracas squares, as spaces for leisure, recreation, daily gatherings, political discussions, musical enjoyment, dancing, etc.
Otro aspecto que proyecto realizar en torno a la arquitectura es el referente a las iglesias del área metropolitana de Caracas, viendo este elemento desde diferentes perspectivas en el contenido religioso, histórico y cultural de cada templo.
También abriré espacio para incluir información sobre las plazas de Caracas. Estas constituyen lugares de encuentro entre los habitantes de la ciudad. En torno a ellas, buscaré los aspectos culturales que se desarrollan en las plazas caraqueñas, como espacios para el esparcimiento, la recreación, la tertulia cotidiana, las discusiones políticas, el disfrute musical, el baile, etcétera.
I have always been struck by the solitude of the statues. Most of them represent characters of great interest, but who have been forgotten by the city and by contemporary history. Through Peakd, I will have the opportunity to bring these forgotten figures to the collective memory.
Siempre me ha llamado la atención la soledad de las estatuas. La mayoría de ellas representan personajes de gran interés, pero que han pasado a ser olvidados por la ciudad y por la historia contemporánea. A través de Peakd, tendré la oportunidad de traer a la memoria colectiva esas figuras olvidadas.
The contemplation of nature is another of my hobbies. Since my first visit to Caracas, I have been in permanent contact with the city's parks and gardens. Parks such as Los Caobos called my attention,

Generalísimo Francisco de Miranda Park (El Parque del Este), Ezequiel Zamora Park (El Calvario Park), the Botanical Garden of the Universidad Central de Venezuela, etc.
One of the activities that I plan to develop is to show the parks of the city of Caracas and, of course, to portray the natural wonder that we, the inhabitants, have at hand, such as the Waraira Repano National Park or Avila Park. I will portray the Avila from different points of the city, the Avila seen from the urban.

Politics is another of my passions. In a turbulent world, political events shape our present and future. I want to provide a critical and informed view on the most relevant events in the political arena, both nationally and internationally, seeking to unravel the causes that influence the decisions that then affect our lives.
La política es otra de mis pasiones. En un mundo convulso, los eventos políticos moldean nuestro presente y futuro. Quiero brindar una visión crítica y fundamentada sobre los acontecimientos más relevantes del ámbito político, tanto en lo nacional como en lo internacional, buscando desentrañar las causas que influyen sobre las decisiones que luego afectan nuestras vidas.
Analyses will be based on concrete data and an understanding of the socio-cultural and historical dynamics that give rise to political decisions. Informed debate and reflective, critical thinking will be our central tools.
Los análisis estarán basados en datos concretos y en la comprensión de las dinámicas socioculturales e históricas que dan origen a las decisiones políticas. El debate informado y un pensamiento reflexivo y crítico serán nuestras herramientas centrales.
I will develop activities related to literary writing in narrative genres in its different aspects, such as short stories, short stories and essays, through analysis and interpretations on specific topics.
Voy a desarrollar actividades relacionadas con la escritura literaria en los géneros narrativos en sus diferentes vertientes, como los cuentos, relatos cortos y ensayos, mediante los análisis e interpretaciones sobre temas específicos.
Finally, I would like to point out that I have always been fascinated and curious about the phenomena of the universe, the stars, the moon, the sun and the planets. The origin of life and the universe has fascinated me since I was a child. Looking at the stars and discovering the cosmos is a really interesting field.
Por último, señalo que siempre he tenido fascinación y curiosidad por los fenómenos del universo, las estrellas, la luna, el sol y los planetas. El origen de la vida y del universo me ha apasionado desde niño. Mirar las estrellas y descubrir el cosmos es un campo realmente interesante.
I plan to devote time to astrophotography concerning objects within the solar system, capturing images of celestial bodies and presenting the experience in Peakd, both photographic and the respective writings on the area.
Pienso dedicar tiempo a la astrofotografía referente a los objetos dentro del sistema solar, capturando imágenes de los cuerpos celestes e ir presentando la experiencia en Peakd, tanto fotográficas como los escritos respectivos sobre el área.
