Todos saben en la esfera mundial las inestables condiciones de vida que tenemos actualmente los venezolanos, tanto económica como política y socialmente, sin embargo, mi propósito no es detenerme en ese asunto, sino en el hecho de que muchas madres como yo estamos sobrellevando una angustia constante al tener que escoger si cubrir ciertas necesidades en el hogar o el pago de matrículas escolares que sobrepasan lo que ganamos como salario.
Acá hay una gran realidad y es que son contadas las Instituciones Educativas Públicas con instalaciones adecuadas para nuestros hijos, con un ambiente seguro e incluso con docentes calificados hacia su función docente. Muchos de estos aspectos con la calidad que deseamos brindarles a nuestros hijos, los conseguimos es en Colegios Privados, pero que significan un gran esfuerzo monetario a la familia.

Y es allí donde entras en la gran disyuntiva: ¿quiero lo mejor para mis hijos? ¿la educación de mis hijos es mi mejor inversión? ¿qué hago para poder pagarla? ¿qué sacrificios debemos hacer los padres para darles una buena educación en colegios adecuados a nuestros hijos?
Los padres que nos aventuramos en tener a los hijos en colegios privados, siendo profesionales no obtenemos salarios acordes a nuestro desempeño laboral por lo cual tenemos que inventar múltiples maneras de conseguir el dinero para costear la educación, sea en matrícula escolar, materiales y otras actividades.
A veces tenemos 2 trabajos y además un oficio, nos convertimos en profesionales ejerciendo cargos en instituciones, siendo docentes, y a su vez peluqueras, manicuristas, decoradoras de fiestas e incluso hacemos láminas y maquetas fabulosas.

Pero realmente esto es agotador. Cada noche es acostarse cansada de tantas actividades, es que llega un momento que te das cuenta de que no tienes ni un día libre porque hasta los domingos vender sopa resulta productivo para poder costear el colegio y necesidades en casa.
Te vuelves una persona que constantemente cuenta los días que faltan para el pago del colegio fabuloso en el que le ofrecen a tus hijos la calidad educativa que le puede proveer de un mejor futuro.
La verdad es que mi esposo y yo todos los días estamos satisfechos de ver el avance de nuestro hijo en su colegio y que aunque nos ha tocado priorizar y disminuir la adquisición de ciertas cosas en casa, nos estamos llenando de dicha con las demostraciones del aprendizaje obtenido por el niño.

Constantemente respiramos profundo, sacamos cuentas y buscamos maneras de seguir adelante, pero hay que reconocer que nos hemos enfrentado a muchas lágrimas, gritos ahogados de manera silenciosa, tristezas y desesperación cuando hay que cubrir gastos educativos y no hemos podido o nos ha costado mucho conseguir cubrir el costo.
Hoy estamos de vacaciones escolares y aunque nos aliviamos por no estar en la rutina diaria escolar, seguimos reuniendo para inscripciones y mensualidades, uniformes, útiles y materiales escolares, pero sabemos que vale la pena. Estamos preparándonos al nuevo año escolar, intentando resguardar el dinero para ello sin que eso signifique tantos sacrificios.

Sé que muchos padres están como nosotros, viviendo estos momentos de frustración y desesperación para poder darles esa educación forjadora de futuros profesionales prometedores a nuestros hijos, una educación libre de adoctrinamientos, con asertividad, valores, buen trato y herramientas pedagógicas bien adaptadas por un personal docente capacitado, así como aulas donde no sufran con estos aumentos de temperatura, donde vayan al baños que estén limpios y tenga agua evitando el contagio e alguna enfermedad o alguna infección en sus partes íntimas. Una educación donde sean estimulados y desarrollados sus talentos y habilidades pero sobretodo donde les estimulen la grandeza que pueden alcanzar en su porvenir.
Espero que los niveles de desesperación vayan mejorando para este año escolar que iniciara próximamente y que esa educación que con amor le damos a nuestro hijo no implique tanto desafio personal.

And that is where you enter the big dilemma: do I want the best for my children? is my children's education my best investment? what should I do to be able to pay for it? what sacrifices should parents make to give our children a good education in adequate schools?.
Parents who venture to have their children in private schools, being professionals, do not get salaries commensurate with our work performance, so we have to invent multiple ways to get the money to pay for education, whether in school tuition, materials and other activities.
Sometimes we have 2 jobs and also a trade, we become professionals working in institutions, being teachers, and at the same time hairdressers, manicurists, party decorators and we even make fabulous prints and models.

But this is really exhausting. Every night you go to bed tired from so many activities, you realize that you don't even have a day off because even on Sundays selling soup is productive in order to pay for school and necessities at home.
You become a person who is constantly counting down the days until you have to pay for the fabulous school where they offer your children the quality education that can provide them with a better future.
The truth is that my husband and I are pleased every day to see our son's progress in school and although we have had to prioritize and reduce the acquisition of certain things at home, we are filled with joy with the demonstrations of learning obtained by the child.

We constantly take a deep breath, do the math and look for ways to move forward, but admittedly we have faced many tears, silent screams, sadness and despair when we have to cover educational expenses and we have not been able or have struggled to cover the cost.
Today we are on school vacation and although we are relieved not to be in the daily school routine, we are still gathering money for registration and monthly fees, uniforms, school supplies and materials, but we know it is worth it. We are preparing for the new school year, trying to save the money for it without making so many sacrifices.

I know that many parents are like us, living these moments of frustration and desperation to be able to give our children an education that forges promising future professionals, an education free of indoctrination, with assertiveness, values, good treatment and pedagogical tools well adapted by a trained teaching staff, as well as classrooms where they do not suffer with these increases in temperature, where they go to the bathrooms that are clean and have water avoiding the contagion of any disease or infection in their private parts.
