*We painted his truck up for the celebration.
*He loved it so much he took right off in it to do some 4 wheelin!!!
After painting the truck I got everything else in order. He had given me ideas as to how he wanted to do his party and I set myself to it.
FIRST, HIS FIRST RIFLE
Around here, part of growing up is learning to be able to take care of yourself and your family. And a part of that is the ability to provide food and protection. So, with Evan being the extremely mature young man that he is mentally, and with him reaching 10 years old it was due time that he received his first rifle.
I THINK HE LIKED IT
Upon receiving it and a safety lesson he put 100 rounds through the barrel and I must say, his skills and accuracy with a rifle are on par or better then his hand gun counterparts! He'll be bringing in squirrels and rabbits to eat in no time!πͺ
A SWEET SURPRISE
Another gift he was to receive was one of his favorite sweets...honey. But, not some store bought honey, instead I wanted to get him some honey that is locally produced by native bees using our native flowers as it is well known that's the best kind for our health...and it supports a local family business.
So off to the local flea market I went. I was in luck, as this was a special one I went to so their was a lot to look at.(In the five minutes I was there, as I was in a tremendous rush getting things ready.π)
I arrived at the flea market with a jar of blackberry jelly and a jar of peach preserves.
And after just a short journey, and a little bartering, I left with a pound of honey and a super cute "honey bear."

THE CAKE
When it got close to the start time for the party my sweetheart, Katie, delivered the cake(and ice cream) so we could all indulge our sweet tooth.
SOME COOL PRESENTS
Evan received quite a few neat and useful presents. Some were for work, some for play but all were greatly appreciated.
*A gun case to keep his new rifle safe.
*A gun cleaning kit to ensure his rifle stays in top condition.
*(One of my favorites)A little bit of cash...but you have to figure out the puzzle maze before you get it.π€£πIt took him about 10 minutes.(and a clue from the giver, his sister Abby.)
*It's hard to tell in the photo,but this is a book he got from his Katie, it is from a series called The Wings of Fire and is about dragons. Evan loves it!!!ππ He finished it before the weekend was over.
*A great target set for practicing his aim.(like he needs itπ€£π)

Thank you dear brother! I let him know that our friend in Chicago said happy birthday. I hope all is well for you. How are you doing in this crazy world we live now?
I'm doing well. Always wearing my mask when I go to work. That's pretty much all I do. Thanks for asking. You must be doing well living off grid.
And we got it in the neck for getting a Swiss army knife for our nephew, in England, on his 10th birthday! π€£ Mind you, we've since discovered that he's not as sensible and mature as your Evan obviously is.
Iβm not sure I'll ever get used to the gun culture in America. It seems strange to be reading about using guns so openly and with someone so young. It's really quite a taboo subject in the UK and Australia.
I'm glad we have it like this over here. I couldn't imagine relying on the stores for our food. First because that stuff is not good for us, and secondly with the world being unpredictable, who knows if the stores will have what we need when we need it. I'm very proud of Evan and how he holds himself as maturely as he does. He is the apple of my eye. Well, I sang it for you. I told him it was from you and he smiled. He said why does someone all the way around the world want to sing me happy birthday? I told him it is because he is a good guy and he loves us. Thank you so much my dear friend! And yes, how quickly it does fly! I was just looking yesterday my pictures of him and videos from when he was four or five, and it seems just like yesterday. I hope he continues on his path of being such a good young man and that he will be successful and whatever path he chooses in the long term of life.
