We keep hearing the statement “It's a matter of time” here and there. But what’s with this time itself?
Is it that time is what’s controlling the universe? You want to become rich, a matter of time, you need to have patience, a matter of time, you are in a haste to do things, a matter of time, you want to grow older, a matter of time. Why is it that in almost all of the things we do in life, time is always involved?
Ticktock says the clock. But is it the clock that determines our time? Or there is some kind of invisible creature named time. Time has always been an important factor in everyone’s existence.
“Time has the power to change a black coal into a shining diamond”. The first time I heard about this phrase made me understand more the value of timing. Timing is everything.
Time is what gives value to something and the same way it takes value away from things.
Humanity as a case study, remembers when we were given birth to, those times when we were cherished by everyone around us, with little or no hatred at all. All that was around us was pure love.
Time factor came in, we started to grow older, and at some point, we began to feel irritated by others, time brought about jealousy into our existence. Maybe as we age we get to become richer than others, which wasn’t like that when we were born.
Time has brought value to our lives. Two kids birth on the same day and same time, would not have the same value over time. The world might cherish, respect, and honor one over the other. All of this is still a game of time. It brought value to one and not to the other.
After years, things might switch again. The one who was respected, honored, and valued might continue to remain honored or not. While the other fellow also might have a drastic change and turnover, or keep living that way.
Nothing lasts forever
The power of time is still in action. This same time that gave value to their existence, is also ready to take value away from them. All of the respect, wealth, and honor, begin to fade away gradually.
They begin to lose value, their fresh skin begins to wrinkle, their nice looks become ugly, and their strong bones become fragile. Was that all to the life they have lived? At the end when their time is up! Then they say goodbye.
We can't change what has happened no matter how much we cry.
I watched a movie a few years ago. So emotional. And at some moment of watching it, I just thought about life and what’s our reason for existing. Happiness, joy, sorrow, sadness, fun, laughter, cry, wealth, poverty, all of these are not within our reach.
No matter how much we wish to get back to our past, it might remain difficult to do so because the past is gone. We can only look back and remember those moments, but changing what has happened in the past is way beyond our reach.
Our past remains our past, even the future ahead of us which remains unknown can never be tampered with. The same way we can’t change what has happened to us in the past is the same way we can only anticipate the future ahead of us, we can't live in the future.
The only time that's ours is our present. We don't have much to do with our past and future. The past is known, and can't change. The future is unknown and cannot be determined.
We can't turn the hands of time no matter how hard we try.
To deceive ourselves the most is when we get to turn the hands of the clock in our room thinking the clock is the determinant of time. Meanwhile, time is the determinant of the clock. Clockwork against time. So turning the hands of the clock in reverse thinking we can’t go back to the past, or fast-forwarding the hands of the clock so we can get to the future is a pure deceit. Time cannot be changed.
Time is so powerful. To have wondered how it can change people's lives in seconds. And also to think about how time doesn’t wait for anyone. You can't pause your time even though you are in charge of it. It keeps moving and we keep running in accordance.
Only if those fantasies of superheroes and scientists time travelling into the future and the past were real then it would have been so nice. But they are all fantasies and illusions.
