Some of the updates today are things users requested and reminded me were lacking.
@wiseagent asked something about when writing music posts that they can't find the artist/song, it didn't make sense to me in the beginning what exactly he meant, cause they're still able to write any post through the site onto any community, but then it clicked. When you wanna write something about an artist specifically or a song, the reviews/posts should also show up on that artists page, for starters. Thus I started setting up artist pages better, for now artist's bios pages resolve automatically using MusicBrainz API, if it doesn't find anything there it attempts Wikipedia.
This means that now you can review any artist, any song and any album specifically. The search uses the MusicBrainz catalog if it hasn't been scrobbled yet. Albums should show up with cover art and every album page has its own review section with a one-click "be the first" write link. Reviews about a specific song also show up on the song's page now, /music wills how up recent reviews similar to the other pages in the past. Keep in mind that this may not be perfect yet and some things may need to still be check after further testing.
I've also been toying with the idea to start allowing artists to verify themselves since @selfhelp4trolls has their own page after our users have scrobbled his music. Some early ideas were to allow artist tipping directly and subscriptions to be notified when they release a new song, etc. There's a lot there to do so I didn't really start yet, for instance when artists verify (once we figure out the process how to) they could have part of their artist section editable to display things like their own preferred playlists (similar to spotify) along with some things they may wanna say themselves and potentially more.
Anyway, the work never ends. :D
I decided to also add a post summary field in the editor before you submit a post, this should help with SEO as pointed out by @dlmmqb, thanks!
I got tired of the way you switched logged in hive accounts with so we added a faster way to switch accounts to the site now. It remembers your other accounts and you can quickly switch on the accounts you've logged in with before. Keep in mind that this won't automatically change which account your extension is logged in with by default, since the extension attempts to log you in the first time you login with a hive account on the site.
Lastly we did a little bit of reordering and renaming of our stats on the frontpage, feels nice to be hitting 50k scrobbles here soon!

Translating into other national languages is very easy via https://crowdin.com/, and many users can help out.
I already have experience with Crowdin (v4v.app and Keychain) and would be happy to manage the “German” translations.
It's not a huge deal for me now that I realize it's seperated youtube videos and spotify streams. Those for me are fine on seperate channels, though maybe some artists would want them together or linked.
Something I think is more important is for songs streamed on streaming services to auto select the official stream video (sometimes marked with "-topic" after the artists name and sometimes on their official channel) that most music on streaming will generate on youtube. For me it did automatically but for bigger artists there are lots of fan made videos and sometimes AI generated videos. I suspect this steals some of the revenue from the artists (for bigger artists I personally don't care but for middle sized or smaller artists, I would not like if that were the case) but also it creates a completely different mood that doesn't always match the song. I've also seen in my recent snap of Air's song that one user was region blocked from this fan generated video.
ALSO, my snaps don't show up on the song page of scrobble!! Checked the songs again and my comment is gone!
And if there's a way to see all my scrobble snaps on my scrobble profile that would be really really helpful!
And the ability to rate albums as a snap instead of just leaving comments on songs would be nice!
Yeah, we've had trouble fetching the official/proper youtube songs when they're initially scrobbled through another platform. We do plan on allowing scrobblers to edit the links if they find it fetched the wrong one so it'll depend a lot on community input eventually and probably evolve into something wikipedia like where enough users need to vote in what they deem to be the correct one and it'll take the option of the majority.
Are you actually scrobbling the songs with the extension? That may be part of the issue but I'll look deeper into your reports here in a bit.
The wiki thing is a good idea although i imagine defualting to the "topic" account songs will probably save a lot of work once you figure it out.
i am using the extension on chrome with spotify.
Right now when I click the album page, I see a place for "reviews" but I don't see any Comments/short takes on the album, the artist or the song pages. Nor anywhere on my profile. It's like after I snap, the only place they exist is snappie. My listens are all being processed fine

Why do some songs or videos only log as listened to but don't create pages? So far it's happened with all the videos I watch on youtube. I can't make comments on them because they don't have pages but they show up when I search for them, I just can't click, there's no link

Many of these aren’t the full song, maybe that’s why they don’t register? Some are live recordings without any song on streaming too
Nice updates and usability and SEO seems to increase along with it. Hitting 50k is quite huge considering that the project is quite new and its release was fast paced. Beside this, I believe that the project shows that could develop on Hive having the support of great communities around here.
The number of users has jumped. Are you measuring it differently now? We just passed 50k listens.
Before it was only showing extension users/scrobblers, now it's showing loggers, since many have logged movies/tv shows it jumped from the usual ~75 to what it shows now. I figured better show this than the other as the other can easily be checked by who has the extension currently installed by checking the web stores on chrome and firefox and more later.

Hive, PeakD, and Ecency all use this standard for SEO. If it's implemented using the standard method, it should boost our SEO score. You can check the before and after scores if you want to.
Another request is to allow us to pick communities of our choice. A Bollywood movie review might get more readers from c/indiaunited compared to posting in c/scrobble.life.
The same goes for book reviews. Some can be regional (or more suitable for c/deepdives OR c/informationwar), and they may get more eyeballs in specific communities. Giving us the freedom to choose while still being part of the Scrobble.life frontend perks would be appreciated.

I finally checked out the scrobble site yesterday and started scrobling some music. I don't know if this is already updated but yesterday I couldn't find a way to delete a song from the list as I accidentally added it twice. So I deleted the whole list and started over.

I added a custom list of songs and could not delete individual songs from it 😀

Yes, it works! A very useful feature for users. I created a new test list and added the same song to it twice and now I saw the delete button and clicked it and it worked :)

Great updates! It’s awesome to see how the platform continues to evolve based on user feedback.
Integrating biographies and discographies from MusicBrainz and Wikipedia so that reviews appear directly on artist, album, and song pages is a huge leap forward for content discovery and SEO. Plus, the ability to quickly switch between Hive accounts makes navigation much smoother.
