My burnout didn't last long, or maybe I'm just choosing to ignore it currently as well as this long flu that seems to not go away.
I've found myself focusing a bit more on scrobble.life over holozing lately, not sure why, but I usually go with whatever I find interesting the most at the time. Maybe that's why I managed to overcome my "burnout" or whatever it was. Either way, I wanted to take the time to share some more things I've been working on with scrobble.life.
I went and added a welcome post and flairs to our subreddit, if you have a reddit account and wanna support it, I'd appreciate some subscriptions:
https://www.reddit.com/r/scrobblelife/
I'm currently also working on adding a simple share button of quick takes and reviews to reddit, even though no-API access is going to make things a bit meh. It'll still be easy enough however.
When you want to share a quick take/review of a movie/tv/anime/book/manga/podcast there'll be a button on that specific content's page to share with a simple reddit popup that autofills title and body and all you gotta do is pick the right flair to post so it makes it easier to consumers to know if you're talking about the movie or tv show named that way. The link shares of longer reviews will be directing readers to scrobble.life which may help a bit more with our traffic generation.
We also have a gmail login for guest accounts currently, although it mainly works with the extension, i.e. music & videos rather than reviews since those still require a hive account, but if we start seeing a higher demand of guest account registrations and them wanting to post we can start experimenting with guest hive accounts since lite accounts are still not created.
This is of course not much to show for, but it's nice to see improvement in traffic generation and search results.

It goes to show that reviews posted through scrobble.life are standing out on their own as canonical links to our website and are able to be found through google. @erikah's recent review was one of the top traffic generators.
I read the news recently that netflix and paramount are looking to purchase letterboxd, aside from it making the rounds due to the controversial take that distributors should not own review pages, it goes to show that some things never change in web2. This kind of made me hopeful that the way we solve things on scrobble.life can stand the test of time and also be unpurchaseable since once you have a hive account all the info is public and your words/reviews are immutable. Even if we decided to hide them from our website, people would be able to figure out how to see them anyway and in times of AI it's never been easier and cheaper to quickly spit out a front-end that won't hide what we're hiding as we've seen happening with certain DMCA cases on our Hive front-ends.
I've generally been trying not to make hive reward pool monetization be a focus of this project. First cause incentivizing people with rewards is mainly going to get you the wrong kind of people, but second also cause if you created a token around scrobble activity you'd just have people fake activity all day to top charts and activity for the sake of earnings. I think leaving things the way they're now where there's no monetary incentive to log movies/tv shows/songs/videos etc is the way to go and try to get people to use the site cause they wanna use it, cause it's unique, offers things others don't and in the end won't step on the same landmines that lead to neglect and shittery of other web2 sites because someone buys them up and wants to milk the users for all they're worth.
Either way, I have another small idea I wanna work on next here for the /watch pages so I'll be ending this post here.
Shoutout to everyone who's tried the website out and keeps using it daily, let's try make it one for the ages that won't succumb to buyouts or other degradation through censorship, etc.
😂
Fasten your seat belt as more review is coming.
Let's bring some traffic to the platform 😎

nice scrobble stats!
Thanks 🥂
Had no time lately, but in a week or two I'll be done with organizing things and I'll have more time to contribute.
Uh, nice we have stats :)
Nice!
yo! been a while since I've seen your username!
Ahh, a lot is happening and I had a break from posting. Just today I'm sitting at Hive booth at festival and I used your post to demonstrate commenting :D
