Fuel scarcity again!!?,all of a sudden? What happened earlier before? What we thought was an old story is having a great effect on the citizens and economy at large. Does it mean the news just pumped out all of a sudden or it has been harboured before now or its it that our natural resources are gone?
This is one of the major commodities in Nigeria that when there is its scarcity or it spikes price, that is meant to be an inflation of prices of literally everything in Nigeria,food stuffs,transportation,clothing,shelter,name it, it affects all just to mention but a few. The other day was those into aviation in Nigeria lamenting that its enough,that they can't hold on any longer.What shall we then do?
President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday apologised to Nigerians over the prolonged fuel scarcity and frequent power outages being experienced across the country. Buhari said shortage of petroleum products was something his government had successfully averted in its seven years in office.source
It has been prolonged not as Nigerians expected as its affecting different sectors in so much that the normal prize of things are spiked up owing to the fact that Nigerian economy has been in a mess for quite a long time now that the president have to clarify the public about the issue.
Minister of Power, Abubakar Aliyu, also yesterday, likened the worsening power situation across the country to a war situation. But Aliyu assured that the federal government was doing everything possible to resolve the situation
However, the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) explained that the power situation was caused mainly by the activities of vandals on the country’s gas supply assets.source
This scarcity is paying off in the power shortage in Nigeria and there has been massive shortage and it seems that those in charge of electrical appliances are in a bargain as it favours them in so much that people in dear need of electricity will now have to get themselves generator
or inverters or solars to ease the pressure on them.
