A lot of water has flowed under this specific bridge, but here is a simple observation on the function of the Carcano Rifle recovered from Oswald.

IMHO, this rifle is one of the reasons that Italy lost! As you can see in this video, the Carcano failed to eject six time out of six. Five times it required manual removal of the 'spent' casing.
My friend collects rifles from WWII, and he has a Carcano; which I have fired. It is a carbine, machined out to 8mm German ammunition; fairly common then. With a fairly flat stock angle (web) similar to a Mossin Negant from the Soviet Union; and the beefed up 8mm cartridge, it has an unpleasant recoil.
But even a lovingly maintained and cleaned Carcano like his, fails to eject 2/3rds of the time! I never thought I'd find myself saying this, but even the French MAS-36 Rifle is better!!!!
Now, to the core of this point, Oswald was accused of firing 3 shots in just over 8 seconds...on a moving target, at extreme range for this rifle.

I've tried this rifle, at a fixed target, at 200 yards with a blade sight. Fighting feed problems in a well maintained Carcano on several runs, my best time was just under 12 seconds. I have about a hundred pounds on Oswald, and can horse a rifle pretty well. Based on my personal testing, I have to call BS on the Warren Commission!
I was looking forward to the release of the real data, as 50 years rolled around (through the freedom of information act); but they resealed it for another 50 years!
The logical conclusion? Someone besides Oswald has been a very bad boy! Also, as Oswald said; he didn't do it. He was a patsy, and that is why he didn't live two weeks after this happened. I wanted to see if they did a paraffin test to determine if he even fired that day at all. Had the Carcano been fired, even once?
My personal feeling is when they set him up, they picked the most useless rifle they had (why waste a good one?) To throw into the frame-up. But there is no chance, that a shooter was so devastating, with that excuse for a rifle; at that range, in 8 seconds! It's just not a good enough rifle....
The single most damming evidence is that they re-sealed this information...50 years later! They must be terrified of what we would find out.
