Informing the authorities is the right thing to do, afterall they'll still take over if when they discover and you didn't tell them.
Beside for ones safety, it's better to leave it for specialist.

That's the thing...safety, I read so many people doing things in their posts without thinking about safety! They need to watch the Alien series !!!

Of course! lol I know about biology but from Earth hehehe not sure if there is something that could also harm me like radiation, an alien creature xD

I am a scientist, and for sure I would contact someone who probably would deal better than me.

Same Here, I'm a Computer scientist, I would love to Analyse any parts of my findings, although for me in the long run, I might sell off the stuffs.
