Important of skills
Skills they say distinguish you from others
Being skilled is your capability to do something very well
It’s not all about knowing but also doing it well
Another thing to call skill is handwork
Your handwork is referred to as a skill.
I will like to focus on HANDWORK which is a skill
Handwork is something you learn with your hands , it’s can be a trade or a vocation in order to be successful and independent in the future
Someone persons think that learning a skill is time wasting while others think it’s not necessary and some persons think having a degree is better
To me both handwork and schooling to acquire knowledge and a degree is very important
And if you are opportuned to have them both , why not ? Go for it
Having both if put you on above some people
It will be an added advantage to you .
Having a handwork will serve as a means of income . It will make you financially stable , you will be be your own person ,own your own business
I had a friend , while we were applying for jamb , writing exams , waiting for exams she , on the other hand was learning a vocation she was learning how to make bags and men footwear’s . By the time some of us had gained admission she was done learning
Had her own sewing machine and became a boss of her own while in our 100L she wrote jamb and also gained . While in school we call our parents and guardians for pocket money, she makes her money fund her lifestyle pay some of her bills that she can pay while some of us that do not have any skills wait for our parents.
Imagine having a handwork and being good at it , people will always be willing to pay you for your services
Having a handwork will make you not spend your money on some things
Let’s assume you are a plumber when you have issues like broken pipes would you pay someone else to get the job done for you?
Likewise you are a fashion designer, a shoe maker would you pay older to renders these services to you?
If you are a stylist , it’s might not be very possible for you to style your hair but would you pay someone to style your kids hair ?off course not knowing these save a lots of money.
In conclusion skills/ handwork are not inbuilt they are learnt
Every skillful person out learnt it
