Huhm, just like yesterday, we were here celebrating a new year, now the years almost turning it's very last page. First thing I did after reading was breathing, yea, I gave a deep sigh, and it wasn't out of exhaustion or pain, it was out of gratitude l, I thought about certain things I had experienced, the various testing moments I had gone through and all, what can I do than be grateful for it all, as it hasn't just stretched me, but also help in reshaping me. And I think the best thing I can do is to be grateful.
I wouldn't be citing various instances and all that I've been through, but one of the things I've learned this year is to celebrate myself. Yea, I celebrate every simple/single thing. There were a whole lot, but then victory came and I'm grateful for that, there are some I'm still facing and contending with, but I'm even grateful for that too. There are times I've thought about giving up, it seems to be the easiest thing, but then, I called self back to attention and kept my hope alive. In whatever situation we're in, we should learn to be full of gratitude.
Yea, so I'm grateful for my health, I'm grateful to this body of mine that has carried me through things I didn't even know I would survive. I'm grateful to myself as well for not giving up, for keeping up and always showing up. I'm also thankful fory family, they are the best. For the love, support, checking up on and all. To my friends too, both new and old, both online and offline, a big thanks to y'all. And to those who left, and to those who we happen to lose contact, I'm grateful for the various lessons.
I'm grateful and at the same time proud of the person I'm becoming... patient, kind, caring..... I'm thankful for the little progress and small wins. I'm grateful for the little good deeds I have been able to do, being able to put a smile on a kids face, either by getting them a sandal, bag, lunchbox, school fees and all, even though they aren't that big of a thing, I'm glad I could do out of the little I have/I'm managing too.
And as the year seems to come to an end, the very way I really want to show appreciation is by being able to do more come year end. I want to be able to put smile on people's face, especially kids. I would also love to spend some time with my loved ones. Even though, presently, all of that seems to be a bit hard/impossible, but then I keep believing I would be able to do something no matter how small.
Surviving through another day ain't easy, talk less of a whole year. This very morning, before leaving home, I had looked in the mirror like I always do and speak some positive words into my life, I concluded with, "I'm proud of you boy, it's good you didn't give up, and please, don't." And I stepped out.
