From Illusion to Revelation: My Evolving Understanding of Dreams

in SciFi Multiverse2 days ago

Dreams are very common with humans, more or like one of the most certain things bond to happen on a daily basis, as we tend to drift off to sleep and before you know it you're already dreaming, be it night time sleep or even a simple nap, some people are so bless that they dream every single time, could even have multiple dreams before morning. Just like everyone else, I do dream, and my opinion about dreams initially was that they're illusions our mind creates to keep us engaged while we sleep, and it's a testament that we're still alive. Everyone sleeps, but only the living dream and wake up to recount what they dreamed about.

While growing up, I used to believe dreams were of no worth but something that kept the mind busy while we slept; however, experience and life have helped me understand that my opinion about dreams back then wasn't correct. And I'd tell you why I say so. You see, I'm the type of person who usually dreams but hardly remembers any of my dreams by morning. I might remember when I wake up in the middle of the night to urinate, but by morning I would have forgotten about it despite how much I try to remember.

Even though I used to enjoy some dreams so much, to the point where when I wake up to urinate, I'll be disappointed, and when I go back to sleep, I'll wish the dream would continue, but nothing of the sort would happen except what I'm trying to make my mind play out while trying to continue such a dream.

Despite the fact that I don't always remember many of my dreams, on a few occasions I do remember them, but the thing about the dreams I remember is that they're more of a warning, or should I say prophecy, that needs to be acted upon, or else the consequences seen in those dreams would come to reality. When I was still ignorant of these gifts I had, I watched at least three dreams I had and remember come to reality, and I can't help but bite my tongue in regret that I didn't act on them, but ever since I've made it a point of duty to act upon them, both in prayers alone and by informing the person in question so they can do the same as well.

With this new knowledge, my understanding and definition of dreams has changed over time, as I now see dreams as many things: one, as an illusion that keeps our mind occupied while we sleep; two, as a warning of impending danger and the need to take caution; three, as a glimpse of the future and an opportunity to take necessary steps so as to either bring such to reality or avoid it from becoming one; and four, as an avenue for the supernatural to commune with the natural. Many of us hear from the supernatural in diverse ways, and dreams are one of them, as I've experienced over twenty times to date.

Indeed, there are diverse theories on the basics of dreaming. And we can't tell it all.
It's probably one of the things we might never understand. We can only give it our own meanings, though they may be wrong

Well elaborated. Its just similar to my thoughts, Dreams truly warns us of impending doom and also presents oppoertunitie in the spiritual realm for us to push physically and bring into manifestation.

Absolutely, dreams plays vital role in the physical word when we take actions.

Thank you for the thoughtful feedback.
Dreams are such an interesting tool to explore living with all the controversies in life.

Not every dream should be overlooked, many people make the mistake of thinking they are just dreams and do nothing.

That's very true, I've been made to learn that the hard way on three occasions.

I agree with you some are so bless they dream everytime while some it annoyed them

That's just it
