I think we only have a chance to stop the oppression when there is a sufficient number of people opposing it. Once that happens, the next step is coordinating that effort. People often do not act out of fear and out of a perception of lack of support. A coordinated effort can reduce that fear as support for each other grows. At the moment, the strength of opposition is not strong enough. There is a very good chance things will get worse before they get better.

You've said it all, it might really get worse before it actually gets better, I do however believe that it's a really long process before we get to that stage, opposite is often frowned upon. Hopefully, this might eventually change.
