The Clematis Is Now In Full Bloom ..

in The LIFESTYLE LOUNGE4 years ago (edited)

I Thought I Would Give You An Update ..

On my Clematis vine(s) out by the mailbox. It has actually been in full bloom for a few days now, but I am just getting around to writing about it. It really is quite full this year. I think it may have more flowers on it that it has in quite some time. @owasco told me that this can happen if you cut the vines about a foot from the ground, instead of letting them just be. I really didn't have a choice since the vines practically fell apart last fall. Either way, it was slow to bloom, but it was surely worth the wait!

I May As Well Start With This Photo ..

It is a little off in color, because I had the vivid setting, or something, turned on. That's okay.. it was enhancing the color and detail in a good way. The other photos are normal with no enhancements, just an occasional cropping. This first photo is pretty close up too.. just about a macro shot. I am loving all of the little details and contrasting colors.

Look at all of those flowers layered in there! These shots are not quite as pretty in color as the last ones, but they are a more realistic representation. It's a wonder that any photosynthesis is happening at all given the amount of sun all of these blooms are blocking. This shot was taken at the top of the mass of vines and sort of looking down.

This photo shows the area right below the mailbox. The vines are a bit thinner and most of these blooms haven't opened up yet. There are plenty there and they look like they will be opening several weeks from now. It's nice when the flowers don't open all at once, but rather give us weeks or months of visual enjoyment.

The top of the mailbox, with this mass of flowers and vines, is still comforting to my feathered friends. I don't know if you remember, but one of the last few times I blogged about the Clematis, I mentioned the bird droppings on the mail box. Well.. It's gotten worse :-/

IMG_2510.JPG

I washed it all off once or twice already and the Robins keep crapping more.. on spite I think! The poor mail carrier has to just love us. At least I saw him wearing gloves the other day. If it wasn't for the Covid crisis, I would surely think he was wearing them to keep bird poo off his hands when he arrives to our box. Sorry mr mailman!!

So putting the poop behind us, and I will clean it up again tonight, lets take a look at the whole thing by standing back a little. I will take the last photo from the rear so that you don't have to be subject to the white droppings again. I still have to do some weeding in the bed underneath. I thought I would get to that this past weekend, but I got distracted with a few other things.. Washing cars and creating a new painting, which is also not finished yet. That's something to look forward to. Those Iris I posted about a week or so ago, are pretty much finished blooming. Everything has its season.

About Me ~ The Artist

My art work incorporates a wide variety of subject matter, including landscape, seascape, cityscape, and still life images. My works are the product of a continuing process of exploration through which I seek to portray personal and visionary interpretations of my surroundings. My paintings are impressions of places and events from everyday life, an interpretation of my imagination, and personal responses to what I see and feel on a daily basis. More recently I have invested generous amounts of time into my landscape painting. I am surrounded by natural and man made beauty, which inherently presents itself in the tri-state area, and almost demands that I paint it.

Not everything is art. Art is not everything, but it comes close. Art is everywhere and all the time. Art makes you experience the beauty of the world, the people in it, and the places we call home. Art itself is so influential that it can tell stories, show feelings, and express passion or fury. Art exists in addition to language; expression of sensations and thoughts, revealing a way of thinking too subtle and delicate for words.

For me art requires love, honesty and perseverance. In return, it reveals some personal, non-analyzable, and creative untamed passion. For the public, art with its magnificent beauty, improves mood and health and builds better human beings and communities. It engages the intellect, softens the heart, strengthens the soul and frees the spirit.

“THE WEATHER OF LOVE"

"Love
Has a way of wilting
Or blossoming
At the strangest,
Most unpredictable hour.
This is how love is,
An uncontrollable beast
In the form of a flower.
The sun does not always shine on it.
Nor does the rain always pour on it
Nor should it always get beaten by a storm.
Love does not always emit the sweetest scents,
And sometimes it can sting with its thorns.
Water it.
Give it plenty of sunlight.
Nurture it,
And the flower of love will
Outlive you.
Neglect it or keep dissecting it,
And its petals will quickly curl up and die.
This is how love is,
Perfection is a delusional vision.
So love the person who loves you
Unconditionally,
And abandon the one
Who only loves you
Under favorable
Conditions.”

Great post! I was the one who told you to cut them low in the spring. You got quite a show this year!!! I wonder why the birds crap so often right there though - there is no place to roost just above is there?
Wonderful poem too, so simple and so true. Cute dog. Which one? Too young to be Molly I think, who is my favorite dog on steem. I mean Hive. Wait. Where am I?

Who are you and where have you been??!! hehe. I will edit the post to reflect the proper name drop! haha. There are no wires or anything but blue sky above.. all of our utilities are buried under ground. Maybe it feels safe. I have no clue. Maybe because of spite..lol.. it's a Robin and I am sure of it because I have seen it fly off from there. I am not too worried. Makes for something to talk about. I'll just wash it off.

Look at that bloom😍😍😍I know you waited for this moment. Ooo abstract white bird poo painting on your mail box hahhaha. Brings good fortune so they say.

P. S. I loved the poem. It talks about love in such a realistic yet romantic way❤️. Thank you!

Your absolutely right.. I was super excited to see them all pop out at roughly the same time. I appreciate their beauty every time I am near the mailbox. Good luck you say? Well then.. I will be looking for a check in the mail instead of the regular bills.😂 hehe

It was a cute little poem, wasn't it. 😊

They look gorgeous. An explosion of colour. Well worth the wait.
