RE: Handsome Emu.

That's such a great shot and you're right, they are very volatile creatures when they want to be. I used to work in the restaurant at the Hamelin Station just south of Shark Bay/Monkey Mia in 1995 and I used to take all of the food scraps up to the animal sanctuary to feed the animals and was once caught between an Emu and a Camel- The Emu was on the footpath only a couple of feet right behind me and the Camel in front of me over a fence and within a second I had to make a judgment call and I chose to jump the fence in with the camel!
I chose the Camel because as much as they can spit, that is not a painful as a scratch from an Emu's sharp claws or beak.....Plus Camels are not as evil looking as Emus!

I also lived in the Daintreee Rainforest in the early 2000's and had quite a lot of unintentional contact with Cassowaries too. They are such beautiful majestic birds!
I even got to look after one called Bernie at an animal sanctuary in Thailand- (WFFT- Wildlife Friends of Thailand) a few years ago- He had been smuggled over there and when he was found, he was almost dead from lack of oxygen and is now brain damaged. Poor Bernie!

Anyway, I hope that you sell lots of Emu on FAA!
Take care and I look forward to your next one.
