Due to the Corona virus has completely changed our routine, we can go out very little and here in Venezuela it adds to the fact that we do not have easy access to gasoline, so we are forced to go out much less than we could, but in the end, life sometimes presents us with challenges and we must learn to master them and not allow them to defeat us.
Debido al Corona virus ha cambiado por completo nuestra rutina, podemos salir muy poco y aquí en Venezuela se añade el hecho de que no tenemos fácil acceso a la gasolina, así que nos vemos obligados a salir menos de lo que podríamos, pero en fin, la vida a veces nos presenta retos y hay que aprender a dominarlos y no permitir que nos derroten.
There will always be something new to do at home while this situation is happening and a few days ago I had the opportunity to do something very fun in the company of the princess of the house, Astrid, who is 5 years old. She had to make a puppet for a school activity and I thought it was a good idea that we could share that moment together.
Siempre habrá algo nuevo que hacer en casa mientras pasa esta situación y hace unos días tuve la oportunidad de hacer algo muy divertido en compañía de la princesa de la casa, Astrid, quien tiene 5 años. Ella tenía que hacer un títere para una actividad escolar y me pareció buena idea que pudiéramos compartir ese momento juntas.
In this quarantine I've done a little bit of everything, even crafts (hahaha) and I laugh because this is not my forte but if we are able to use creativity and propose something to ourselves it will always turn out well, even if your skills are not the best, with patience, work and constancy everything can be achieved? I do know that I sound like a self-help book again, but it's the truth, I've proven it.
En esta cuarentena he hecho un poco de todo, hasta manualidades (jajaja) y me río porque este no es mi fuerte pero si somos capaces de usar la creatividad y proponernos algo siempre saldrá bien, aunque tus habilidades no sean las mejores, con paciencia, trabajo y constancia todo se puede lograr... Sí se que sueno nuevamente como un libro de autoayuda, pero es la verdad, lo he comprobado.
Now I share with you how to make this felt puppet
¡Ahora te comparto el procedimiento para realizar este títere de fieltro!
Materials / Materiales:
Felt/Fieltro
Hot or cold Silicon/ Silicón cliente o frío.
Sewing thread/ Hilo de Coser.
Scissors /Tijeras
Instructions/ Instrucciones
- Make the basic pattern using the hand of whoever is going to use it. From this pattern make the desired drawing, I chose to draw a girl (similar to Little Red Riding Hood). Cut out the felt by holding it with pins.
Note: As every newbie I made a mistake when I cut the puppet's mold I made it too narrow and it didn't fit little Astrid's hand, so I recommend you to make it wider. Luckily I stretched the felt a bit and it fitted Astrid's hand.
Hacer el patrón básico usando la mano de quien vaya a usarla. Partiendo de este patrón hacer el dibujo deseado, yo opte por dibujar una niña (semejante a Caperucita Roja). Recortar en el fieltro sujetando con alfileres.
Nota: Como toda novata me paso algo gracioso que al cortar el molde del títere lo hice muy angosto y no cabía la mano de la pequeña Astrid, así que te recomiendo hacerlo más ancho. Afortunadamente estiré un poco el fieltro y puso caber la mano de Astrid.
- Cut out the other pieces that you will take out according to your puppet's drawing.
Recortar las otras piezas que irás sacando de acuerdo al dibujo de tu títere.
- When you have the pieces, locate their position at the base of the puppet.
Cuando tengas las piezas ubicar su posición en la base del títere.
Sewing either by hand or on a sewing machine Glue the pieces together with hot silicone. Add the cheeks, eyes and a bow.
Coser ya sea a mano o en una maquina de coser. Pegar las piezas con silicón caliente. Añadi las mejilla, ojos y un lazo.
And here it is...
¡Y este es el resultado final!

What a wonderful project. Even though you said you are not very crafty, you and your daughter made something so charming and fun! Your instructions show that it is not difficult to do. Excelente voy a intentar hacerlo con mi hija, para entretenerla un rato en esta cuarenta.
Que bueno que te animes a hacerlo, queda muy lindo y es sencillo.
En mi caso como no se coser (jajaja) me llevo más tiempo pero si tu tienes más habilidades lo harás mucho más rápido.
