Bumpy Bow Crochet Headband

When you got tons of errands and commissioned works lined up for the day but your little one requests another crochet project, of course the only logical thing to do is to set everything aside and fulfill that request. Unless you want a little version of yourself following you around, asking you all day about that request.

But of course, you got to be smart. There are a lot of quick projects that you can make in less than an hour. Like this Bumpy Bow project. Not an hour long process, a lifetime of thanks and kisses, and of course, you will have your peace while doing your other chores.

This project is really quick and easy. 9 rows, 39 stitches each.

You start with 40 chains. Join the ends to form a circle.

Row 1: Single crochet on the second chain, working on the back bumps. Then sc across. Slip stitch on the first sc.

Row 2: chain 1, single crochet on the first stitch. Treble crochet on the next. Do sc and tr alternatingly across.

Row 3: Chain 1. Sc on the first stitch, then across.

Row 4-9: Repeat rows 2 and 3 alternatingly until you end with the single crochet row. Fasten of. Weave off ends.

Put the ring of sc and dtr's on top of the headband. Wrap the center of the bow with yarn making sure itbis firmly attached to the headband.

You can also use this bumpy bow on other projects. You can go ahead and wrap thebyarn aeound at the center of the bow without attaching it to the headband. This can be a good applique to a toddler's dress, or an ornamental belt end and so much more.

This pattern is based from the book Crochet at play by Kat Goldin. This isbthe first book about crochet that I bought late last year. Hopefully I can buy some more crochet books. :) Learning is always fun when you love what you do.
