The Autumn Splash!

Months back I blogged about finding Sisterhood by joining a 3 times a week Summer Squad of bootcampers who were dedicated to health and each other’s well being.

Well, it’s been 3 months of solid bootcamp and I feel so different to when I started. I started 2021 with nothing on my plate - I’m a mom of teens who basically do distance learning online, so I don’t have much input; my airbnb got full time tenants, so no more managing to do. So I was looking to do something that would make me better and stronger.

Number 1!!! I joined Hive mid-January and haven’t looked back.

Number 2!!! I started Summer Squad at the same time and haven’t looked back.

After 3 months I feel so much stronger, fitter, more balanced and in control of my body. The scale may not have changed much as I’ve been building some muscle again, but my shape has definitely changed and my old clothes are comfortable again. Amazing what 3 months can do!

We celebrated the end of the first term and the change of seasons with an Autumn Splash 💦. It started with a glorious walk on the beach out to the old log (I’ve blogged about that too!) and then back for a frigid swim on the 11•C Atlantic Ocean.

It actually didn’t feel that cold but I refused to get my hair wet 😂. Such a girl!

The best part was hanging with the ladies, chatting about life, kids and all the other nonsense that goes along with it and drinking coffee from a flask with home baked choc-chip biscuits.

Every now and then you’ve got to celebrate your accomplishments together. It’s no fun on your own. I tried it by myself and it was hard, but these ladies keep on challenging me to be better and stronger and that I can do this!

Maybe that’s what you need to hear today:

I hope you can jump in some cold water with some mates and experience all the thrills that come with it.

Here’s to another 9 months of consistency on Hive and in the Summer Squad.

Well done! Weight doesn't define because you're losing fat but gaining muscle mass, and that's a good thing.
The most important thing is how you feel, and as you see results, your spirit and perseverance get stronger.

It's absolutely awesome that you've been able to find a way to really help yourself feel better! That can be a hard thing to do, but finding a support group of people can certainly help. Good for you!
